POOR START TO SEASON 5!

Choa Chu Kang - In last season fixture against FC Chinese Boys, Myjia was denied a victory. This season, having lost the opening fixture, Myjia was determined to win.

Myjia was still missing long term casualty Ng Yong Chun from the line-up having tore his knee meniscus last season which restricted him to only three appearance. Besides, veteran shot stopper Raymond Tan was also unavailable for the tie leaving Myjia with limited defensive options.

A match which had seen temperature rising in the previous tie, started off in favour of Myjia. In the opening minutes of the match, Eric Low had an opportunity to put Myjia ahead after rising above the defence to win a header. However the header missed the target by a fraction.

Myjia continued to press for an opening and got their reward. Speed demon Delvin Ng was adjudged to have been fouled in the penalty area after a surging run. Stopper Lucio stepped up and made to mistake to bury the ball into the back of the net.

1-0 to Myjia as they started off the match strongly. However, after taking the lead, Myjia faded letting FC Chinese Boys dominate.

On the half an hour mark, FC Chinese Boys drew level after powerful header from a corner which left stand-in goal keeper with no chance despite getting a fingertip on the ball.

1-1 was the scoreline as Myjia began to crumble. Within minutes from the equaliser, FC Chinese Boys took the lead. After a surging run down the left flank, FC Chinese Boys' winger provided a delicate cross which Jerry could only punch it clear. However the clearance fell to FC Chinese Boys' midfielder who beatifully took it first time. The superb shot left Jerry with no chance.

In the closing moment of the first half, FC Chinese Boys doubled their lead. This time a superb break down the left flank followed by a superb finish left Myjia trailing the game 3-1.

During the break, Vincent made a tactical reshuffle in attempt to spark a comeback. However, FC Chinese Boys began the second half where they left off in the first period. Waves and waves of attacks in attempt to put the match beyond the reach of Myjia was denied by Jerry.

On the hour mark, FC Chinese Boys got their reward for their persistence. Another surging run down the flank caught Myjia's fullback, allowing FC Chinese Boys through on goal. Composed finishing left Jerry with no chance.

Myjia then brought on Edwin Goh who made an immediate impact with a fine header only to be denied by the keeper. However, apart from the header, Myjia attacking play did not pose any threat to the opposition defence.

FC Chinese Boys onslaught of Myjia continued during the closing moments of the game as they fired twice to add more misery on Myjia poor start to the season.

6-1 was the final score as Myjia seeks to get their season rolling. Myjia failure to work as a unit was dreadfully exposed by FC Chinese Boys.

A DIFFERENT BALL GAME?

Ang Mo Kio - There are certainly more than whispers among Myjia players after team manager requested players to bring two sets of jerseys for the match at Serangoon stadium on Saturday.

Doubts are raised as to why the need for two sets of jerseys and with Vincent requesting full attendance, it is no wonder players are wondering aloud just what is special about this match.

"This match doesn't feel like a normal match even if it is the last game of the season. Suggestions that we are playing against Football Weekly doesn't quite add up. I'm not convinced. Something is not right about this game," quoted an unnamed player.

Just what exactly is this match about? It appears that there are two different camps among the players who might just know exactly what this match represents.

Finally Myjia is impressing me again.

The Family team lost 5-4 to a very experienced St. Wilfred Malays but there is absolutely no shame in the defeat.

The team can hold their heads up high and with one last match of the season to play, Myjia is finally playing again like the team it was when it started - a never-say-die attitude married with a desire to play the beautiful passing game.

Right winger Ebenzer Low marked his general progress with another long range attempt in the 2nd minute of the game to give Myjia the lead. The shot was unleashed with venom and the keeper could only push the ball into his own net. For the record, Ebenzer now boasts the fastest goal ever scored by any Myjia player.

Stunned, the St Wilfred team settled into their rhythm and began pressing for an equaliser. When it did come, it boiled down to a lack of match practice from first-choice Myjia keeper Raymond Tan. Cutting in from the left, the St Wilfred forward took a potshot on goal and uncharacteristically, Raymond allowed the normally routined save to slip through his fingers and into the goal. There were to be no finger pointing and to be honest, it mattered more to the team to have Raymond back fit and playing than him conceding a soft goal.

1-1 and there was to be no let up from St. Wilfred.

The pressure continued to pile and by the halftime whistle, Myjia were 3-1 down.

Down but not out, Myjia's recently converted left winger Kenneth Koh started to create more impact on the game with his powerful runs down the left. The idea to convert Kenneth was first mooted by Chia Junhao and the result has been largely positive.

Surging down the left and latching on to a long crossfield ball, Kenneth slalomed past the defence to square a perfect ball for Delvin to score his seventh goal of the season.

St. Wilfred Malays then increased their lead to 4-2 which dampened Myjia's spirit momentarily before the team displayed her fighting spirit.

Defender Wilkin Tan was the unlikely hero when he scored for the second match in row to lead Myjia's spirited comeback after a swift counter attack initiated by Delvin. The nimpy forward rolled the ball to Wilkin who made no mistake with his shot.

The resurgence barely lasted a minute before St. Wilfred hit a fifth goal.

Myjia's response was swift and were rightly rewarded with Jerry's 12th goal of the season. Hitting the target from 30 yards out, the goal was in similar style with the previous two goals scored by the versatile player. To highlight his contribution to Myjia's season, the goal meant that Jerry, mostly used in defence, is now Myjia's topscorer going into the last match of the season. A simply brilliant feat.

5-4 and the game always looked to have at least another goal in it. St. Wilfred hit the bar then the post in quick succession and Myjia followed up with a stiff grounder from Edwin which brushed past the far post.

The closest either side came to scoring though came in the final minute of the match via Myjia's Vincent Low.

Parrying a header by Edwin, the keeper was rooted to the ground and watched helplessly as both Vincent and Ronnie had all the time in the world for a deserved equaliser at the far post. It didn't quite happen according to the script though as first, Ronnie hit his shot meekly against the post and with the rebound, Vincent blasted over from 5cm out. A genuine contender for the miss of the season.

With the final chance blown away, the referee blew for the final whistle to a largely entertaining and committed performance by both set of players.

Tuas - Myjia FFC began 2010 with a well-deserved 7-1 victory over Al Wahabi at Xinmin on the first Saturday of the year.

Fresh from their recent upturn in fortune which included a 5-2 win, Myjia began the match missing several players including Delvin, Wilson (out with diarrhoea) and Junhao (training stint at FC Seoul). The recent three weeks break clearly had an effect as Myjia hardly exchanged three passes before conceding possession.

The game lacked any rhythm or imagination from both sides until Kenneth put stand-in striker Jerry through on goal in the 23rd minute. With the ball rolling perfectly into his stride on the left corner of the six yard box, Jerry made no mistake with a powerful finish, beating the keeper at the near post.

Despite the lucky break by Myjia, the general performance of the team was scrappy and the team looked vulnerable when under pressure. Nearing the end of the first half, Al Wahabi constant pressure paid off when the referee blew for an unlikely penalty.

Smothering a low shot from an Al Wahabi forward, the ball rebounded off trialist keeper Lim before hitting leftback Jackson on the hand. Clearly a case of ball-to-hand, Myjia's pleas fell on deaf ears. Lim guessed the right direction but was just inches away from an excellent penalty save.

1-1 and without any clear idea or directions, Myjia continued to toil through the half until the introduction of on-loan midfielder Wan.

Bringing a sense of calm and purpose into Myjia's game, the team began to show signs of improvement with Wan in midfield before the referee blew for halftime.

As soon as the second half resumed, Myjia appeared a different team. Stringing several passes together, Eric was a split second to Jackson's low cross that flashed across the goalline.

As the minutes ticked by, Myjia's fluency grew and when the inevitable second goal arrived, it was always a matter of when.

With Waimeng released down the right, the midfielder swung in a cross which evaded the keeper and fell to the feet of Ebenzer. The youngster took a quick shot which was parried by the recovering keeper but back into Ebenzer's path who made no mistake with the rebound.

Waimeng then got himself onto the scoresheet as he strode into the Al Wahabi half and sensing ample space and time, he unleased a shot from 25 metres which swerved past the keeper to increase the lead to 3-1.

By this time, it was Myjia all the way as Al Wahabi failed to find an answer to the passing movement of Myjia. Kenneth exchanged a one-two with Vincent who had pushed himself into an attacking role and from the return pass, Kenneth finished sharply with a stiff grounder from a tight angle.

Vincent then got himself onto the scoresheet when he raced from the middle of the field and slotted home the rebound after the keeper had blocked his initial shot. 5-1 and with 15 minutes left to play, the goalscorer-cum player-manager substituted himself out and pushed the defenders up to grab their share of the goals as the season draws to a close.

Wilkin was the beneficiary of the bold tactical move. Racing to meet Kenneth's low cross from the right, the defender clipped the ball over the diving keeper to net his 2nd goal of the season.

Wilkin then turned provider when he slipped a pass for Waimeng to round off an excellent 7-1 victory for Myjia.

We're back on track!

Tampines - Myjia notched up an impressive 5-2 win against a youthful Temasek Boys FC on a horrendous East View pitch on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

Veteran player Michael Low made his first appearance of the season in attack for Myjia and at almost 60, Michael has the distinction of holding the record for being the oldest player in the Amateur League. Brilliant.

Edwin continued his excellent goalscoring run with a brace, the first a thumping shot that opened the floodgates and the second using his height to his advantage with a towering header that beat the keeper and into the net.

Tough-tackling leftback Ryan Xie got into the mood as well with his first ever goal for Myjia and what a goal it was. Picking up the loose ball just inside the opponent's half, Ryan unleashed a shot which sailed past the keeper and into the top corner.

At 3-0 and cruising with barely 20 minutes of the match played, Myjia typically entered into sleep mode and allowed Temasek Boys back into the game.

On loan keeper Allan more than showed his goalkeeping abilities with a commanding presence and a sound reading of the game to thwart several Temasek attacks to give Myjia a commanding 3-0 lead at half time.

With a win in sight, player-manager Vincent Low made the first of several changes with the introduction of youth team prodigy Ryan Low in attack.

The youth team star showed much improvement since his last appearance for Myjia and was unlucky not to get his name on the scoresheet after making a purposeful foray on the right side in the 55th min.

Myjia then showed its typical weakness in the second half to concede two goals in succession to leave a win in doubt.

3-2 and with 20 odd minutes to go and with the Temasek Boys piling on the pressure with their spirited attacks, Myjia somehow managed to turn the game around against the flow.

A hesistant pass from Vincent was hurriedly cleared by Waimeng and when the ball flew into the opponent half, Wilson was on hand to break the offside trap and place an immaculate ball past the hapless keeper.

The goal lifted Myjia's spirits and with Wilson's goal celebration - kissing an imaginery ring and pointing to the skies dedicating the goal to his new friends at Beijing Guoan, the fire in Temasek Boys' fight was truly doused.

With the team looking home and dry, Waimeng added further gloss with a goal minutes later for an ecouraging 5-2 scoreline in favour of Myjia.

The Future is Bright

What? Game cancelled? Now you tell me what am I going to write about.

Saturday's scheduled game at the atrocious Tanglin was cancelled after the drainage system failed resulting in the water-logged pitch which would have been a spectacle had the game been allowed to carry on.

It's been years since I played in a swimming mudpool and ... never mind.

Thankfully, the next match can't come fast enough as the next scheduled match would be on 12th December. The match details has not reached me here in England yet but what I do know is we will be missing several players.

Long term casulties, Raymond, Yong Chun and Lucio will definitely be out while the latest we hear is that Wilson will not make it back in time after his training stint at Beijing Guoan. His twin brother Wilkin looks likely to be out of town as well.

If Jackson and Zhiwei manages to be fit for the game, that would solve the two vacant spot though that would mean shifting the problem to the bench. Likelihood is to call up the reserve team players which brings to my mind the end of the season promotion.

It's been two seasons since Myjia promoted any players from its reserve squad into the first team. Current reserve player Zhiwei has been languishing in the Reserves for almost two seasons and it's high time he gets promoted to the first team given his performance and regularity.

Ditto Ryan and possibly Lucio when he recovers from his season-ending knee injury.

Ditto Edwin.

Should all our players be available, Myjia definitely have a good enough squad since the days of Sunny Rai. And with these four Reserve team players into the First Team squad list next season, things are looking good.

Add that with the likely emergence of the Low brothers in Ryan and Ryle in a couple of years time, the future has never been brighter.

Now, I can't wait for the future to come and I can barely wait for this Saturday's match.

Hi everyone!
I've been quietly following Myjia's disastrous decline ever since I penned a first entry back in October 2006. Well, Wai Meng told me that no one believes my existence so I decided to just hide somewhere until Wai Meng rang me up again.

"Hi Jimmy, how're ya doing? I'm running out of words to describe Myjia's abject performances that I've decided to stop writing match reports. Besides, no one wants to read about a losing team."

"Oh f*** it Wai Meng. It's Myjia you're talking about! You guys have a solid core of players and it's probably a mental thing," I opined before Wai Meng interrupted..

"Nah! We're one-half wonders. Make that first half wonders. Godlike in the first half, doglike in the second and ..."

"STFU! Where's your faith in Myjia and the supporters?! The faith and belief!," I yelled.

"You must be playing like shit. It must be your f**king fault. You play in the middle, you can't last the game, you're f**king useless," I bantered.

"Go get yourself some weed and get some f**king energy back into your f**king game."

Wai Meng then hung up on me.

So, I sensed his dulanness and to get myself into his good books, I offered to write a column for Myjia every Sunday of the week while he go get his game back.

So, here I am.

It's matchday today and by tomorrow, I should have be writing my first article and hopefully about a Myjia win. Good luck guys!

Rousing finish earn Myjia well-deserved point

Sembawang - With virtually the last kick of the game, Jerry Lim earned Myjia a well-deserved point after a man-of-the-match performance from stand-in keeper Aaron Tan to keep Myjia in the match with a series of competent one-on-one saves.

At 2-1 down with 10 minutes left to play after young striker Edwin Goh had headed home for his sixth goal in four games, Myjia piled on the pressure and virtually camped in the Redhill Jack half as the team searched for an equaliser.

Possession was kept brilliantly in the Redhill half as Myjia looked to fashion an opening with the clock ticking and when midfielder Leong Wai Meng was tripped 35 metres out in stoppage time, the Jacks must have thought they had weathered the storm.

Up stepped Jerry with a deep leftfooted inswinger into the penalty box that evaded everyone and by the time the keeper had seen the ball, he could only dive in despair as the ball dipped and nestled into the net for a dramatic finish.

It was certainly well-deserved given that Myjia played one of their better passing game and were mostly in control throughout the match and especially since the team came from 2-0 at halftime to finish the game 2-2, the character and effort shown by the team was exemplary.

Team captain-cum-manager Vincent Low had an immense game at the back and despite the two goals conceded from the attacking play of pacy Jack's left winger, Vincent's reading of the game was excellent and when he was pushed further up to join in the attack, he offers a option which sees him holding the ball and bringing the other players into the attack.

Back-from-injury Aaron Tan deserves special mention for adapting to his stand-in role as goalkeeper after first choice keeper Raymond Tan was ruled out for the rest of the season. Aaron rescued Myjia on several ocassions, thwarting the Redhill attacks with his positioning and handling.

Myjia wasted several chances to score throughout the match and when Chia Junhao hit the bar from a freekick midway through the second half, the fans must have thought this could be one of those days.

The presence of lanky forward Ronnie Low to harass opposing defences has been missed and left winger Jackson Seetoh's penetrative runs down the wings and ability to stretch defences could have unhinged the Redhill defence earlier.

In all probability, Myjia could have gotten a comfortable win with a full strength squad taking its chances. Nonetheless, the match finished on a morale-lifting high and another moment to savour as a Myjia classic.

"Goal!"

"Goal!" exclaimed Wilson in a bright and delighted tone. And rightly so. The team had pieced together a series of delightful passes that had the opponents chasing shadows on a wet Saturday afternoon at Tanglin.

It was Delvin who was nursing an ankle injury who released Wilkin into space down the right and the rightback showed good composure to beat his marker to send in a teasing cross which his brother volleyed home.

That goal was Wilson's first of that season and you can genuinely feel his joy at breaking his goal drought. It was a moment to savour as the twins had combined superbly and looking back, you will remember such moments as classics in the Myjia annals.

There must have been at least 15 minutes to go before the halftime whistle and Myjia were already 4-0 up at this point and to be honest, it was a long while since we had such a commanding lead that season.

The striker that day, Edwin Goh who was only in his third appearance since his free transfer had notched a brilliant hattrick to give Myjia a comfortable lead with his third goal being an impressive shot with his left foot just inside the penalty box.

The team had a very balanced look that day especially in defence where Jackson again impressed on the left side. Naturally left footed and with a decent repertoire of tricks, he has the poise of an elegant wingback and on that day, he certainly looked the part.

When the second half resumed, the grey October skies grew from bad to worse and despite dominating the match, the team somehow failed to increase the tally with wasteful finishing. The match was eventually called off midway through the second period when the heavy downpour was accompanied by lightning.

A pity we could not finish the match that day for had we been allowed to, we might and should have hit double figures.

It was still pouring half an hour after the match had ended and the guys were still hiding in the cramped changing room. It was only after a while later when we managed to make our way out of Tanglin ....

....Wilson could not be reached. When my phone rang again, it was Jackson's number.

"You hang on," Jack told me.

"I'll meet you right outside Ginza Plaza. My phone dropped into the drain and I watched it flow away....," Wilson told me using Jack's phone.

"What the f**k? Hahahahahahaah sibeh suay," I laughed inside my head...

MYJIA AIMS TO GUN DOWN ST. JAMES AFTER WOEFUL DISPLAYS!

Pasir Ris - With only 1 victory in the last 6 matches marks one of Myjia worst run in seasons. In the process, Myjia have conceeded 21 goals in the process. Leaky defence and occasion lapse of concentration have been the main problem this season. Myjia have to find a solution to this problem quick before they continue to fall deeper into the pithole.

The most recent defeat to CCK FC further highlighed the vulnerability in Myjia defence as they put 7 goals past Myjia keeper. However, in a humiliating defeat, Myjia latest signing Edwin gave Myjia fans a glimmer of hope of reviving a miserable season by scoring his 2nd goal in his 2nd match.

Following his signing for Myjia, he have so far won over the hearts of Myjia fans with 2 impactful displays.

Apart from Edwin, youngster from Myjia youth academy Ebenzer Low also found the net in the 7-3 defeat to CCK FC. The goal he scored will definitely provide a boost in his morale having scored on his birthday. Besides, that goal brought his tally to 3 goals which equals the goal tally from previous season. He will definitely be fired up against St. James FC having been sent off once.

Ahead of this week clash, Myjia received a boost with the return of midfield duo Leong Waimeng and Kenneth Koh. The duo sat out the previous match due to a short term loan due to Toronto FC and Tioman FC respectively.

Livewire Delvin Ng will also be set to make a return having been given all cleared by the medical staffs.

With critics hot on Myjia heels, a victory is a must in order to relieve some pressure of the shoulder of Myjia players and management. Furthermore, a rivalry between the two teams have ended all square with 1 victory each and 2 draws. Myjia will definitely be hoping to gain an upper hand in this rivalry.

From Bad To Horrendous

Myjia Hits New Depths

Editor's note
I hate to state this - Myjia FFC sank to new depths as a makeshift squad crashed 2-5 to Chinese Veterans at Marsiling Secondary.

To say Saturday was possibly the worse matchday of Myjia as a club was an understatement.

It was much worse than that.

The team played with ten players throughout the match, such was the size of the squad that the fans equaled the number of players. Such a statistic is simply embarassing.

Worryingly, the entire situation could have been even worse had midfielder Wilson not pushed for an early release from work to make himself available for the game.

It could have been worse had Eric Low not put aside some time for the team away from his family commitments. Without Eric, Myjia would have been two players short - Eric's brother-in-law was signed on loan as an emergency leftback.

Without the enthuasiam and commitment of these two players, the match would have been cancelled on Saturday. Imagine yourself slogging through the work week just to look forward to playing a game of football on Saturday. Now imagine changing appointment times, arranging your Saturday plans around the football match. And now, imagine you turning up only to see your seven other team mates. Then you wait and hope that the rest shows up. And then finally the match is cancelled due to the lack of players. I hope you see the picture. We were that close to this scenario on Saturday.

I don't mean to be critical. But everyone has their own commitments and priorities and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

The manager has a difficult enough task to appease everyone so that the players have enough playing time when they turn up but we could all make his job easier when we promptly reply our attendance for the forthcoming match. If the number's lacking and there aren't sufficient reserves players to call up then fair enough, cancel the match. But bear in mind that the referee needs a couple of days in advance before we can cancel a pre-arranged field.

Cancel a game and those players yearning for the match will be disappointed but to carry on with the arrangement with insufficient players presents another set of problems. It's a tough call and I'm just glad I'm not the manager-cum match organiser.

On a brighter note, despite the ultra-demoralising defeat at the hands of another average team, Myjia looks to have unearthed a striking prodigy in Edwin Goh.

The lanky new signing had an impressionable debut and wowed the stadium with a stunning effort when he scored from the centre of the pitch upon kickoff. The ball sailed powerfully past a stunned keeper into the top corner.

Edwin then added an assist when he broke the offside trap before laying the ball for Wai Meng to roll into an empty net.

"The boy's got good strength, physique and packs power in his shot. However, all that is not important if he doesn't possess the right attitude," remarked an insider source.

Vincent signs teen striker

Boon Lay - Ahead of Saturday's match at Marsiling Secondary where Myjia threw away a two goal lead to finish two apiece, manager Vincent Low has moved to sign an Malaysian teenage striker Edwin Goh on a free transfer.

Following news that Chia Junhao, Ryan and Zhiwei have all been called up for national duty, Vincent will view this signing as a coup and also with the long term strike partnership in mind.

Myjia's strikeforce has also been severely depleted with news that Delvin Ng will be unavailable for at least a month with torn ankle ligaments. The unlucky striker will hope for a similarly fast recovery to get back on the field after overcoming an ACL last season. In addition, veteran striker Eric Low could miss Saturday's game owing to family commitments and that leaves the frontline bare with only Ronnie Low as a recognised striker. On a slightly more positive note though, winger Jackson Seetoh should make his return after missing the previous two games. Jackson who can operate as a striker, though it is not his natural position, will be much needed to add more firepower to the attack.

Meanwhile, Vincent Low has expressed his delight at the enthusiasm and commitment shown by Edwin who showed much desire to play for Myjia. "At the moment, Edwin's fitness level is not too ideal. Although he will likely make his debut this Saturday, the fans should not expect him to deliver immediately," cautioned Vincent. Wise words especially considering that the striker is merely approaching 20.

Midfielder Leong Wai Meng will be hoping to add to his tally after scoring in consecutive games since coming back from his stint at Toronto FC. His last goal against FC Chinese Boys was a precise freekick past the outstretched arms of the keeper. Junhao then increased Myjia's lead with his own version of a freekick which thundered past the keeper.

North View - With just 5 victory in 15 matches played so far this season, Myjia's fans were hoping that Myjia will be able to overcome their poor form and reach their peak. Their hopes were boost with the return of midfielder Leong Wai Meng, who spent 6 weeks on loan to Toronto FC.

However, with shotstopper Raymond Tan sidelined for several months, Myjia had to dig deep into their reserves to fill in the huge boots left vacant.

Player/Manager Vincent Low sprang a surprise on Young North Viewers by fielding chief striker Chia Junhao between the goal. The striker who is known for his goalscoring abilities is a reliable shotstopper as he is a reliable goalscorer.

With a dip in form, Myjia was eager to start the game well. However, instead of sitting back and allowing Myjia to start the game well, Young North Viewers brought the game to Myjia.

In a tightly contested first half, the first attack fell for Viewers' striker who distracted Junhao with a clap before taking a shot. Junhao's appeal for foul play by Viewers' striker fell on deaf ears.

On the 20th minute of the first half, Jerry came close to putting Myjia in front after a blopper by Viewers' goalkeeper. However, the goalkeeper atone for his mistake by pouncing on the ball before Jerry.

The focus point of the first half was a verbal confrontation between Vincent Low and Viewers' towering centreback. The confrontation was a sign of things heating up between the two teams.

With a tightly contested first period, both team headed into the break stalemate. Possessing no offensive threat to the Viewer's defence, player/manager Vincent made a tactical switch by switching himself into an attacking role.

Myjia started the second half brightly with a superb volley on goal by Waimeng, the perfectly timed volley which seems destined for the back of the net scrape over the crossbar. Had the ball landed in the back of the net, it would have been a superb return for Waimeng.

Myjia pressed on with multiple attacks but had difficulties making their chances count in the final third of the pitch.

The momentum of the match switched in favor of the Young North Viewers when defence lynchpin Lucio faced with an injury. Myjia immediately hit the self-distruct button with a defensive mixed up resulting in Viewers taking the lead.

The goal marks the opening of the floodgates for Young North Viewers. In a matter of minutes, Viewers exteneded their lead with a superb play by their left winger down the left flank to set up their striker to have a clear shot on goal.

0-2 was the score on the scoreboard and Myjia had a mountain to climb. Myjia pushed forward but failed to find cutting edge. The temperature of the match began to increase after a late challenge made by Delvin on Viewers' striker. Shoving and pushing between players of both team took place as Viewers' striker grabbed the shirt of Wilson Tan who was present when the challenge was made.

With 20 minutes left to play, a shirt tugging on Vincent resulted in a penalty. Waimeng grabs the ball signalling his intentions to take the penalty. He took two steps back before firing the ball into the back of the net marking his return for Myjia.

Myjia made a switch upfront with young starlet Eugene coming into fray.

Myjia continued to pressed on for an equaliser and came close in the closing minutes of the game when a freekick by Waimeng found Delvin Ng who broke the offside trap in the penalty area. However with Viewers' goalkeeper closing him down, Delvin could only make enough contact to fire the ball over the bar.

Having failed to convert a golden opportunity to equaliser, Myjia had no choice but accept defeat at the end of the match. Myjia stuttering season continues. Myjia's fans will be praying hard that their side will no face another defeat in their next fixture at Marsiling Secondary School.

Ontario - In the space of three months, a luckless run of one win in six games has seen Myjia plummet to new depths morphing from a decent mid-table club to one that's facing relegation.

The latest defeat, a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of a team of veterans, comes after a semi-morale boosting victory and also with Myjia missing several players from last season's squad.

Goalkeeper Raymond Tan continues his recuperation while midfielder Leong Wai Meng continues to be on loan at Toronto FC. Defending prospect Ng Yongchun has only recently returned to fitness after his stint in Vietnam while tricky winger Jackson Seetoh himself managed his first appearance after being recalled back from his Hong Kong loan spell.

That piece of managerial decision to recall Jackson back from loan could yet prove a masterstroke despite the humbling defeat.

The morale of the team is in shambles after yet another crushing defeat but things may appear differently from a different perspective after Jackson's well-taken goal against Indian Crest.

The very foundation of a football club is based upon the support of the fans and there is no greater satisfaction for a fan than to see a homegrown player come through the club's youth academy and become a first-teamer.

Hence the importance of Jackson's goal.

Trained in the Myjia style of play at Holland Road since six years old, Jackson marked his return to first team action with a goal that should galvanise his fellow academy graduates as well as Myjia's imports.

The moment when the ball hit the back of the net, the academy players would do well to remember the ecstasy to see their cousin scoring and the joy of celebrating with him. The same players would also do well to remember the expression of the fans when one of us scores.

The imports, very much part of Myjia's family friends now, will in essence feel the same way - not part of our bloodline but a big part of us. We are a team.

Jackson's goal may be just a consolation in the 5-1 defeat but let it not stop at just that. Let it be source of inspiration to remind us the joy of scoring and winning.

North View - Failure to notch a victory in the past five matches meant that there was an immense pressure on Myjia to deliver against Temasek Bo ys FC. However their cause was not helped with several key players being unavailable resulting in Player/Manager Vincent Low left with a youthful squad to choose from.

Myjia started the match with only one recognised striker Delvin Ng. However, Vincent had other ideas in his mind and left Delvin on the bench. Instead, he chose an unlikely striking pair of Ebenzer and Wilkin to lead the attack.

Despite the youthfulness, Myjia had experienced midfielders Jerry and Kenneth to dictate the pace in midfield. This resulted in Myjia dominating large amount of possession.

However with large amount of possession and dominance, Myjia makeshift striking force of Ebenzer and Wilkin failed to threaten.

On the 20th minute, Wilkin had an opportunity to put Myjia ahead. However nervy finishing got the better of him after a beautiful squared ball by loanee, Marcus, found him leaving him unmarked and left him with only the keeper to beat.

Myjia continued to put pressure on Temasek Boys and got another opportunity from a freekick after Wilkin was upended at the edge of the penalty area. However the resulting freekick was put over the bar by Jerry. Minutes later, Myjia had another freekick from the similar area. This time it was youngster Ebenzer who fired the ball over the bar.

On the half an hour mark, Myjia brought on speed demon Delvin Ng in to the fray. Delvin had an opportunity to score his fifth goal in five consecutive matches. However his failure to convert a beautiful set piece taken by Jerry resulted in him missing one of the best opportunities of the match.

Myjia seem destined to enter the break goal-less until the closing minutes of the first half where Kenneth was put through on goal by Ebenzer. Having missed the previous match, Kenneth showed what Myjia was lacking by firing an unstoppable shot past Temasek Boys keeper.

Jubilant was Myjia fans as they headed for the break with an advantage.

Second half was similar to the first as Myjia continued their domination. Myjia determination to increase the advantage resulted in the adoption of a more attacking formation.

The change reaped its reward as Myjia doubled their lead through Kenneth Koh. A superb long throw by Jerry found Kenneth in the six yard box and Kenneth was not left with much work to do but to head the ball in to the net for his second goal of the match.

Instead of giving up, Temasek Boys continued to press on hoping to pull a goal back. They were almost rewarded for their perseverance when their central midfielder went for the spectacular from the halfway line. However instead of ending up in the back of the net, the ball scrapped over the bar.

On the 70th minute, Jerry had an opportunity to seal the victory having been put through by a long ball from Lucio. Jerry, who scored 7 goals this season, could have added another goal to his tally. However, his chip over the on-rushing keeper was a fraction too high.

Jerry’s long throw was a source of threat for Temasek Boys. Having set up a goal for Kenneth from a long throw, he tried his luck again. This time, instead of finding any Myjia players in the six yard box, it found the back of the net. The goal from the resulting throw-in was disallowed.

In the closing minutes of the game, a superb ball from Lucio set Marcus free down the right flank. Having displayed his unselfishness in the first period by squaring the ball to Wilkin instead of taking a shot on goal, he displayed his unselfishness again after breaking free from the defenders.

This time round, he squared the ball beautifully to youngster Ebenzer Low. Having a goal scoring momentum which was built from the previous game, he showed his composure and fired the ball past the keeper. 3-0 was the score-line as the goal was virtually the last kick of the game.

Ecstatic was the word to describe the feeling of Myjia players and fans having not won in the past five matches. However Myjia fans will also be hoping that the victory is a sign of change in form as they will be hoping Myjia will deliver in their next fixture.

MYJIA WINLESS IN 5!

Marsiling - In a match in which Myjia had set their sight on ending their winless streak, Myjia was forced to field a makeshift midfield with the absence of key midfielders Kenneth Koh and Leong Wai Meng, currently on loan to Toronto FC.

Myjia began the match on the wrong foot by conceding an early goal after a swift break by Olympic Marsiling. It was a sign of opening floodgates. However Myjia reorganised and ensured that the match remained evenly contested.

For much of the first half, the match was restricted to the middle of the park until player/manager Vincent Low made a tactical reshuffle which saw him moving up to an attacking role. The match soon began to open up with Myjia having more opportunity to test the keeper.

On the 40th minute, Myjia got back level on terms with a calm finish by Vincent Low after receiving a sublime pass from Delvin. The goal was celebrated with his trademark dance.

Myjia headed into the break with one goal apiece and in attempt to increase Myjia attacking threat, speed demon Delvin Ng, who score three goals in his past three matches, was given the task to spearhead Myjia attack.

It took just minutes after the restart before Delvin Ng proved why he was given the task to spearhead the attack. After receiving a superb long ball from Mingchun, Delvin took the ball and calmly placed it past the keeper for his 4th goal in 4 matches. He is quickly imposing himself as a fan favourite with his goals.

Myjia continued to dominate the second half with Junhao and Jerry dictating the pace of the game. It was not long before Myjia doubled their lead. A superb one-two play between Delvin and Vincent set Vincent through on goal. However instead of taking a shot, he squared the ball back to Ebenzer who make no mistake in firing the ball into the back of the net for his first goal of the season.

3-1 was the score-line and Myjia seem destined for a victory. However, a seventy yard screamer from Olympic Marsiling’s midfielder caught Myjia’s keeper napping and Myjia was left in a state of shock.

Tables were turned and Myjia’s dominance began to fade. Olympic Marsiling immediately took full advantage of their dominance and Myjia's lapse of concentration by finding the back of the net twice in a space of five minutes. 4-3 was the score-line as Myjia faced with a twist of fate and seems destined for yet another disappointing result.

However Myjia continued to press for an equaliser but came to no avail. In the closing minutes of the match, Myjia perseverance finally paid off when chief striker Junhao headed the ball into the back of the net after a sweet delivery from Jerry through a freekick.

The goal gave Myjia a slim ray of hope to notch a victory. However any thoughts of a victory vanished when the sound of the referee’s whistle filled the pitch to signal the end of the match.

Despite their dominance and opportunities, Myjia had yet again failed to break their winless streak and had to rely on Junhao’s equaliser in the closing moment to spare the blushes. 5 matches with no victory is a statistic in which is not desired by both Myjia fans and the players. Myjia fans will be desperately hoping that this statistic will be broken in the upcoming fixture against Temasek Boys FC.

Myjia academy boy Ebenzer Low knows several players from his time at Temasek Boys and manager Vincent Low will no doubt look to the youngster for some valuable information on the opponents.

Ebenzer himself has just opened his account for Myjia in the previous match and will be hoping his fine form continues. However with Myjia winless in five games, the bookmakers and fans alike are not so confident of a victory for Myjia.

Last check on the odds appear that Myjia are still overwhelming favourites to win at 1-2 which means that for every two dollars that you bet, you win a dollar. Dunearn - Myjia FFC attempt for getting a victory in the joyous period off-field faced several setbacks before kickoff with news of both central midfielders Waimeng and Kenneth being unavailable for this tie.

Minutes after kickoff, Myjia hopes of notching a victory faded as China FC exposed Myjia's makeshift defence with their long-ball approach. Myjia defensive woes throughout the season have been the failure to handle the long-ball approach and this time a misjudged header by stand-in lastman Alvin allowed China FC's striker to have a clean break. Being through on goal, he demonstrated his composure when he fire a shot past the keeper.

The goal sprung Myjia back into life and Myjia began to display signs of fight back as Myjia pressed forward. Myjia finally drew back on term when newly-wed Junhao layed a ball beautifully for Jerry who made no mistake in firing from long range and put Myjia back in contention.

However it was not long before Myjia's makeshift defence was exposed twice in succession by quick counterattacks from China FC. The chances of getting anything out of this match seems to vanish with a two goal deficit as Myjia seems destined for yet another defeat in a poor season.

3-1 was the scoreline on the scoreboard during half time. Player/Manager Vincent Low made a minor tactical reshuffle attempting to spark a fight back to rescue their season.

The tactical reshuffle had instant impact to the game as China FC started off the second half nervously as Myjia began to threaten going forward through the likes of Delvin, who has rediscovered his first season form, Jerry and veteran Eugene Low.

Possession was finally converted into a goal when Jerry beautifully chipped the ball over China FC defence and set Delvin through on goal. Rediscovering his goal scoring touch, Delvin made no mistake in putting the ball into the back of the net. 3 goal in 3 games for Delvin as he is beginning silent his doubters with his goals.

Minutes later, Delvin had another opportunity to put the ball into the back of the net. However, the lack of composure got the better of him as he fired the ball into the back of the stands despite chesting the ball down beautifully.

On the hour mark, a twist in the plot took place as a re-enactment of Newcastle United's Kieron Dyer and Lee Bowyer took place in the form of Eugene Low and Delvin Ng. Frustrated at Delvin's style of play, Eugene expressed his displeasure vocally and confronted Delvin.

The pair's partnership for the game eneded as player/manager Vincent withdraw veteran Eugene from the match. Morale in Myjia camp took a dip after the incident and China FC took full advantage of it with a long range strike which found the back of the net.

Despite the goal, Myjia continued to dominate the second half and pressed forward. Several opportunities fell for Delvin Ng, who seems affected by the incident, failed to convert them.

In the closing minutes of the game, Eugene was brought on for Delvin ,whose concentration took a landslide, and no handshakes were exchanged between them. The change immediately resulted in a goal when Eugene and Jerry linked up superbly with a neat one-two. Jerry yet again displayed his composure infront of goal and fired the ball past the keeper to notch his seventh goal of the season.

However the goal was not enough to rescue a point for Myjia as another defeat was in the bag when the referee blew the whistle for full time. 4-3 was the scoreline on the scoreboard as Myjia FFC slump continues.

Myjia discusses tactics at halftime

Bedok - Myjia FFC revisited Bedok South stadium for a friendly against Bedok South FC on Saturday where the venue evoked unpleasant memories of an earlier fixture where the match was abandon after the referee was spat at by an opposition player.

With the team missing several players, Myjia started cautiously as manager Vincent Low emphasized on keeping possesion of the ball and playing the short passing game.

Captain Vincent Low had a superb game at the back for Myjia marshalling the backline and orchestrating several offside traps as Myjia weathered an incessant Bedok South offensive in the opening 20 minutes.

Stand-in keeper Junxiong kept Myjia in the game on several ocassions in the first half in particular two one-on-one attempts splendidly thwarting the Bedok South forwards.

The Family team, missing several players, failed to impose themselves into the game in the first half and chances were limited to the ocassional set pieces which came to nought. Despite the absence, Myjia academy graduates Wilkin Tan and Ronnie Low played above themselves intercepting and breaking the Bedok South attacked with their tackling.

As the end of the first half loomed, Delvin Ng played a one-two with the improving Eric Low to find himself with a clear sight on goal. With his idol Theirry Henry in mind, Delvin attempted to copy the Frenchman only to mimic the times when he missed the target. Jackson Seetoh then had a superb chance when he was left unmarked in the penalty box but sent his header inches wide when presented with a Kenneth cross.

The score tied at 0-0 at halftime and Myjia were deserving to be level at this point in time.

The old Myjia syndrome came to the fore again when within minutes of the restart, Myjia were trailing after a deflected shot off Wilkin deceived Junxiong and trickled into the net.

Myjia were down 4-0 in the space of 20 minutes by a succession of goalkeeping and defensive blunders, undoing the fine defensive work in the first half. The fingers though should not be pointed at the stand-in keeper nor at a makeshift defence.

Disheartened but not out, Myjia psyched themselves up with their pride in mind. Vincent pushed himself up to the strikers role while Ebenzer played as an emergency centreback. Credits to the tactical switch, Ebenzer grew into the role with authority while Vincent soon supplied an assist for Myjia's first goal.

After missing another shot from a simliar angle, Delvin sped into the penalty box with Vincent intelligently providing a decoy and shieding a defender to create sufficient space for the winger to toe poke a powerful shot into the bottom corner.

The momentum was with Myjia now and after missing a couple of shots, Leong Wai Meng finally did something right in the 75th minute. Controlling a half-cleared corner, the midfielder released the ball wide right to the overlapping Wilkin who atoned for his own goal with a teasing cross which Kenneth soared highest to flick in to the net. 4-2 to Myjia and the pressure mounted on Bedok South!

The Southerners were noticeably edgy and in their typical fashion, were easily provoked and were looking for a fight. Rightly so, the referee produced five yellow cards and on one incident, Delvin was unluckily booked for dissent after being shirt-tugged.

The game was not over as Myjia rained more shots on the Bedok South goal. Kenneth displaying his athleticism and technique, executed a brilliant long range volley in the 84th minute. The goalbound shot though was directed straight at the keeper but at such a pace that the keeper had to acrobatically parry the shot before collecting the second ball.

With the clock ticking down, Kenneth had one last chance with a powerful grounder. Eric just failed to connect after the keeper parried the shot and the ball was eventually cleared to safety.

2-4 the final score on a scorching afternoon and amidst the hustle and bustle of the game, Myjia Online spotted a local scout poring over the performance of the Myjia players.

"The Malay team was not very good and I have with me a record of the performance of the Myjia players," claimed the scout who admitted he is a big fan of Myjia and follows the matches religiously on Myjia Online.

Complacency Costs Myjia Three Points

Tampines - Caretaker manager Eugene Low's first match in charge ended in disappointment as Myjia threw away a two goal lead and conceded two goals in the final five minutes to finish 3-3 with Spansolina City on Saturday.

Myjia started the match in a spirited mood with an almost full strength squad barring Eric Low, Vincent Low, Chan Mingchun and Ng Yong Chun who is on loan to FC Hanoi.

The first real attack of the match from Myjia in the 15th minute resulted in the opening goal, such is the dominance of Myjia that it was only a matter of time before the family team opened the scoring.

Jerry Lim, once again impressive for Myjia, floated a deep freekick into City penalty box which caused mayhem when Delvin Ng darted in from the blind side to clip the ball past the keeper. Delvin fast rediscovering his first season form for Myjia was a constant menace for the City defence and that goal will have done wonders to his morale ahead of an energy sapping examinations week.

Myjia's suspected concentration level surfaced again after the defence decided to pass around the penalty area before finally presenting Spansolina their equaliser.

Totally against the run of play, the stunned Myjia players awoke from their slumber and launched the offensive. Leong Wai Meng was beginning to get into good positions in the City box and when two legitimate penalty calls were turned down, the referee finally got one decision right when Wai Meng was pulled from behind after receiving the ball inside the penalty area.

Up stepped Wai Meng for the resulting penalty and the midfielder made no mistake slotting the ball home into the bottom right corner from the penalty spot.

2-1 to Myjia and for all the possession, the Family team failed to increase their lead as both teams trooped in after 45 minutes.

Team tactics were reshuffled during halftime by Eugene Low and the introduction of Jackson Seetoh down Myjia's left flank soon provided the impetus for Myjia's attack. Jackson's close control and flank play provided Myjia with the width and chances were building up rapidly.

Chia Junhao missed an absolute sitter when put through one on one with the keeper and the off-colour striker's shot ricocheted off the keeper's leg's for a corner.

Several corners were taken and aimed for the head of towering defender Lucio but the attempts failed to find the target.

Lanky striker Ronnie Low was providing good decoy and support for the Myjia midfielders to push forward and when another corner was cleared weakly by the City defence, Wai Meng stormed forward to take charge of the loose ball and belted home a stiff grounder from just outside the penalty box to give Myjia a 3-1 advantage.

Myjia was in total control of the game and passes were sprayed around with confidence and poise. Eugene Low showed good touches and glimpses of his footballin brain as he continually linked the midfield and attack with his short passes.

By now, the smell of complacency was beginning to fill the air as the passes begun to get sloppy and Myjia were eventually punished for their arrogance with two quick goals in the final five minutes of the game following two defensive errors from Myjia.

The stats were not available but it certainly appeared that Spansolina City had scored 3 goals from only their three real attacks in the game.

Myjia on the other hand though superior in every aspect of the game, had nothing but one paltry point to show for their total dominance.

Complacency resulting in conceded goals is fast becoming a regular theme for this Myjia team.

Tuas - Midfielders Kenneth Koh and Leong Wai Meng are set to miss this Saturday's match at Regent Secondary.

The pair of cousins are not available owing to personal commitments and manager Vincent Low will be looking from within the squad to bolster the midfield. Myjia has enjoyed a mini revival of sorts in recent weeks with the 5-0 win a culmination of the change in fortune. The untimely absence of the two midfielders though may be a blessing in disguise as Vincent could attempt to try out a couple of players in midfield.

Such a situation is common in world football where the likes of Phil Neville excelled in his makeshift role as a midfielder following injuries to his midfield colleagues while at Manchester United. Neville has subsequently moved on to Everton and established himself as a midfield maestro at least in the English Premier League.

Similarly, Myjia could be in for a treat as a potential midfielder-in-the-making could well be unearthed at Regent.

Tuas - A stunning hattrick by Chia Junhao led the way to a fully deserved 5-0 victory over Northviewers FC in a match which pundits and analysts claim to be Myjia's best performance to date.

Enduring a roller-coaster start to the season, not much was expected of Myjia on Saturday when the team faced a technically superior Northviewers FC side. Consisting of mainly Malays, the well-built Northviewers appeared to be relaxed and confident ahead of the match as seen by their jovial demeanour during warm-up.

Dominating possession straight from the kick off, the Northviewers looked to be focusing their attack down Myjia's right flank where on-loan defender Lucio stood in for Ng Yong Chun who has yet to feature for Myjia this season owing to study commitments.

Supported by fellow on-loan rightback Zhiwei, the Myjia defence appear to do just enough to keep the attacks at bay even though Lucio was continually taunted by the home fans as he tried to settle into the tempo of the game.

Myjia got their first break of the game somewhat fortuitously when Mingchun was adjudged to have been pressed down by a Northviewer defender and the referee awarded a freekick from just outside the left hand corner of the penalty box.

Jerry Lim and Leong Wai Meng discussed between themselves and when the freekick was taken, the uncertain wall failure to block Jerry's sight on goal and gifted the midfielder an opening which he thundered thru the keeper's flailing arms.

Stunned by the goal, the fluidity in the Northviewers' game began to ebb away as Myjia eventually wrestled the control of the game and dictated the pace from the middle of the park.

Lucio eventually grew into the game and proved to be a colossus in defence. It was from Lucio when Myjia when two goals up.

A hopeful clearance from the big defender found Junhao in acres of space and with only the keeper to beat, the Myjia forward flicked the ball beyond the onrushing keeper's reach and into the net.

At this point, the fans were delirious and witnessing a very good and discipline Myjia performance in a long time. The Myjia defence were resolute against any attacks by the opponents while the midfield held tight and limited Northviewers to speculative punts and long shots which rarely troubled Raymond in goal.

On the ocassion where Raymond was threatened, the Myjia shot-stopper showed fine positioning to snuff out any shots. In particular, a 33rd minute freekick from Northviewers looked to be heading towards the top corner until Raymond stuck out his palm and pushed it out for a corner.

Settling into a comfortable and dominating position, Myjia then extended their lead further again through the hotshot Junhao. Latching on to a through pass by Vincent Low, Junhao raced clear together with Mingchun with the latter providing a decoy for the backpeddling defenders. Sensing the keeper out of position, Junhao cut into the six-yard box and unleashed a screamer into the bottom corner of the near post.

3-0, advantage Myjia and it has been a while since Myjia were this dominant and controlled, treating the fans including Board Director John Lau to a matured display of passing football.

The tie was effectively over when Wai Meng took a quick free kick which cut through the opponent's defence after Jerry had made an incisive run. Simple yet effective and the opponents had no answer to questions posed to them by Myjia.

At 4-0, the fans and players alike wondered if there would be a comeback from the opponents as often is Myjia's case. The fears were allayed as soon as Myjia increased the lead to 5-0.

The goal coming in the 60th minute, marked an outstanding hattrick from Junhao who is finding his best form again after a lacklustre 2008/09 season. Collecting a pass from Jerry outside the penalty box, Junhao turned and fired a superb 25m volley which was reminiscent of his earlier effort this season. The ball hit the roof of the net leaving the keeper with no chance.

Totally outplayed and outfought, the frustration in the Northviewers players boiled over when the left winger reacted to a late sliding challenge from Wilson Tan with a wild swing of the arm.

The incensed Myjia players remonstrated with the referee but to no avail. It was then left to Jerry who took the law into his own hands with a late knee-high challenge on an opponent which earned him a yellow card in the process.

The final score ended 5-0 in Myjia's favour and never mind the little unpleasantries towards the end of the match, there was no denying the crowd at Northview had witness a superb team performance by Myjia FFC.

REVIVAL HITS SOUR NOTE

Bukit Merah - Myjia's mini revival took a step backwards when they lost 6-3 to Bendemeer Lime despite taking an early lead.

The lead provided by in-form Leong Wai Meng came as early as the 8th minute after a succession of short passes at the edge of the penalty box saw Wilson Tan clipped a through pass that appeared to be just too far for Wai Meng.

The Bendemeer defender though, was caught in two minds and Wai Meng sneaked ahead and slotted the ball between the keeper's legs.

That lead was short-lived as Bendemeer stormed back into the match with two quickfire goals to establish their foothold on the game. Myjia never really looked to be recovering from the setback but somehow against the run of play, Wai Meng scored his second of the match off a corner kick.

The equaliser failed to raise Myjia's game against a more experienced opponent and it was hardly surprising when a uncharacteriscally laxed defence allowed Bendemeer's No.20 to send a low cross for his fellow striker to put Bendemeer ahead again at 3-2.

Wai Meng almost had another say in the game after playing a beautiful one-two with Wilson Tan and finding himself facing just the goalkeeper. To everyone's disbelief, the incompetent referee, who incidentally had a horrid match, blew for an offside.

Minutes later, Jackson Seetoh wasted a glorious chance to level the match before halftime as his shot beat the Bendemeer but just went inches wide as Myjia went off the field trailing Bendemeer Lime 3-2.

Bendemeer Lime resumed their efficiency in front of the goal soon after the break with the No. 20 impressing with his positioning and power but not his attitude notching a hattrick to put Bendemeer 4-2 up.

The players and the meagre crowd of 5 were then treated to a wonderful spectacle on the art of freekick taking in the 62nd minute courtesy of Chia Junhao.

From a full 25 metres out, Junhao took two short steps and hit a shot with so much accuracy and power that the keeper did not have time to react. 3-4 the scoreline and with Junhao's fifth goal of the season, memories of the spirited comeback in the previous match floated in the players' mind.

There was to be no fairytale ending though despite Delvin Ng's goalbound shot coming off the post in the 85th minute. Bendemeer Lime scored another two goals to silence off any Myjia ambition of a comeback to triumph 6-3 as Myjia succumbed to their fourth defeat in seven matches this season.

Kampong Bahru - Myjia stormed back from 2 goals down to triumph 4-3 over Team YCK on Saturday.

Inspired by the first generation of academy graduates namely, Eugene Low, Vincent Low and Eric Low, Myjia took an early lead into the match with a sublime through pass by Jerry Lim to provide Chia Junhao with a glorious chance at the edge of the six yard box.

The topscorer for Myjia looked up and picked his spot with precision into the far bottom corner to repay Jerry's brilliant surge from defence and dribble past 3 defenders.

Playing reasonably well on a hot afternoon, Myjia looked to hang on to the slender one goal advantage and also tried to increase the advantage with chances falling with regularity to forwards.

It looked to be a different Myjia side from the previous week and with keeper Raymond Tan in commanding form, Myjia almost just did enough to hang on to the lead until halftime when a momentary lapse in concentration from the Myjia defence allowed a Team YCK striker to shoot from distance and when Raymond parried the shot, no one was in sight to play the second ball thus allowing Team YCK no. 9 to tap in a simple rebound.

An equaliser for the opponents coming in the 44th minute, the goal sapped the confidence out of Myjia's play.

When the second half restarted, Myjia's continuing lethargy from the restart resume its work.

A quick succession of goals in the space of 10 minutes saw Myjia trail by 3-1 and by this time, it had appeared that we are looking at the same old Myjia of previous weeks.

However, a masterful stroke of tactical ingenuity from manager Vincent Low saw himself pushed up to attack and Junhao dropped to defence. Jackson Seetoh and Delvin Ng swapped flanks and both to devastating effect.

Vincent was the first to benefit from the switch as he latched on to a ricochet off a defender from Kenneth's pass to round the keeper and slot home for his first goal of the season.

3-2 and game on! Vincent's goal appeared to rouse the fire back into Myjia's game and Uncle Eric Low soon played his part in Myjia's comeback.

A right wing ball was whipped crossfield and instead of chesting the ball down while in the penalty box, Eric showed immense awareness as he dummied the ball for an overlapping Delvin to speed past the bewildered defender and fire in Myjia's equaliser.

3-3 and the crowd were beginning to sense an incredible match on hand as chants of "Myjia, Myjia" rang around the stadium.

Shocked by Myjia's comeback, Team YCK piled on the pressure hoping to get something out of the game while desperately trying to plug the holes on the left side of their defence as Eugene and Vincent wrecked havoc.

The pair of brothers turned back the hands of time with a display of intelligence, movement and great understanding as they tormented the YCK leftback throughout the match.

With 5 minutes remaining on the clock, Vincent controlled a long punt from Junhao and when Leong Wai Meng picked the ball off Vincent and surged into the box with purpose, time appeared to stand still as the midfielder shuffled his feet past two defenders before launching a shot from the edge of the box for a shocking comeback by Myjia.

4-3 at this stage, Team YCK refused to give up and Raymond was repeatedly called into action as he returned to top form to preserve Myjia's lead and victory.

A very satisfying victory to end the recent run of poor results for Myjia and credits must go to the entire team for playing above themselves to lift Myjia out of the doldrums.

In particular, regular striker Ronnie Low was deployed as an emergency rightback and did brilliantly in an unfamiliar position while Wilson Tan is fast improving into a quality midfielder with a sound footballing brain. Wilkin Tan, often criticized for his lack of composure on the ball, too played a blinder, nullifying the opposition threat from the wings though his composure on the ball still leaves much to be desired.

Nonetheless, a win is a win despite conceding three goals. What's more important is this win has lifted Myjia's morale and with another match coming up on Saturday 2nd May, Myjia is just eager to play and build on this result while the Uncles continue to lead the way in the Myjia revival.

1-3: That Losing Feeling

Tuas - As Myjia slumped to another demoralising defeat on Saturday to SuperDad FC, it is imperative that the club should hold an inquest to determine the causes to this free falling downward slide towards relegation.

A look at previous seasons will show that during Myjia's second season, the first five matches brought about 3 wins and 2 draws. Last season's record was an impressive 4 wins and 1 defeat. Alarmingly, Myjia have started this season horribly with 2 wins and 3 defeats, not forgetting we almost drew the previous game which we won when we had a stranglehold of the game.

Take a deeper look at last season's results and you will find the rot taking place somewhere in August at Old Westlake where in the space of two months, Myjia were thrashed in 3 out of 4 games. Subsequently, Myjia were winless in the remaining 4 games of the season after edging out two identical 3-2 wins.

So, the rot has carried on and eaten into this season. What exactly is happening?

Our game has been frustrating to say the least. So much so that veteran Eric Low allowed his emotions to get the better of him as he lashed out at the referee and getting himself red-carded in the process.

Why are we continually playing below par? I can only imagine that firstly, when Myjia started out, we meet together to firstly participate in this novel idea to play a match as a family and secondly try to win against OTHERS. It's the famed Us Against the World mentality.

As the seasons go by, the first objective was overwhelmingly achieved but not so for the second. We are turning up just to play a game, forget the Us Against Others mentality. Frankly, it is not a bad thing as ultimately we are Myjia. Family unity and spirit should rank above every other thing. However to keep Myjia Family Football Club alive, we must start to win games again. And do so consistently.

Why the need to emphasize on winning games? It's simple. We are a football club and in sports like everything else, everyone loves to be in a winning team, a successful team. Should this current abysmal run continue, the consequences could be dire.

For a start, we are already seeing an increase in cards being dished out to us partly as a result of frustration boiling over. Should such indiscipline continue, the rest of the players on the field will eventually start to get tired of the arguments and fights against the opponents or referees. Remember? We just want to play a game of football. The worst scenario would be for teammates to get fed up with one another be it for spoiling their game of football or showing a lack of desire to win a match.

Maybe such a scenario may appear extreme. However, consider this next point.

Should we continue losing, interest in the team will gradually wane and when players start to leave the team or to a lesser extent not turn up for matches, it is the beginning of the end for Myjia. Why torment yourself to experience the demoralising losing feeling every fortnight?

(Do note at this point that I am not in anyway referring to Delvin who was paparazzied in Genting Highlands' casino and who spilled the beans on fellow striker Ronnie who was also gambling in the same casino. Nor am I referring to Jackson who was also paparazzied at Sentosa. Hahaha..cheers guys! )

The demise of everything starts with a simple four letter word: Lose.

Lose your self-esteem, lose your confidence, lose your pride, you lose yourself. Lose an interest and you will never be interested again. Lose something and that something is forever lost.

Keep losing and Myjia Family Football Club will lose its existence.

All is not lost however. For the antidote to losing is belief. When we start believing we are the better team, start believing that we can play better, start believing that we can win matches again, only then can we will pull ourselves out of this rut.

We have to have that belief in ourselves and Myjia.

This, afterall is my own belief. It is now up to you to believe.

Kent Ridge - A dejected Delvin Ng left Kent Ridge after his error almost cost Myjia FFC three points against the Churchgoers of St. James FC.

Leading 1-0 after taking the lead through Chia Junhao's first goal of the season, all the stout defensive work marshalled ably by an impressive Jerry Lim threatened to come to nought in the 85th minute of the match. After scrambling out of a challenge against a charged up St James attack seeking an equaliser, Delvin carelessly thread a pass across the edge of the penalty box and with keeper Raymond Tan caught off-position, the teenage striker from St. James was able to intercept the pass and stroke the ball into an empty net.

St James which had previously defeated Myjia 2-1 in a similar fixture last season celebrated the equaliser with wild and youthful abandon while the more experienced Myjia side felt their hearts sink and wondered if their dreadful start to the season were to continue.

The honours to the match were rightfully returned to Myjia in the final moments of a match where they totally dominated the opponents but failed to make the dominance count. With virtually the last kick of the match, Chia Junhao doubled his tally for the season with a well-placed header off a Wai Meng corner to win Myjia all three points in a largely scrappy contest.

In a first half watched by a crowd of 18, there were cause for concern prior to the match when a golf ball was flung over to the St James crowd. Credits to the St James supporters, their emotion were kept well in check.

Ten minutes into the game however, the St James supporters began the start of an emotional roller-coaster. A quick throw in by Junhao was beautifully met by Kenneth Koh's glancing header which cleared the keeper but not the frame of the goal. That was to be a prelude to multiple waves of attack launched by Myjia which were largely squandered by the wasteful Myjia attack.

Emerging midfielder from the Myjia Academy, Wilson found space on the left of the six yard box and his attempted shot was well blocked by the keeper before the referee blew for offside.

National serviceman Chan Mingchun had his fair share of chances in his first start for Myjia this season but alas his inexperience showed when he dallied in front of goal on ocassions when his partnership with Junhao upfront appeared to bear fruit.

Ageing midfielder Wai Meng was guilty of wasteful and arrogant finishing when he anticipated a freekick from Junhao and found himself with only the keeper to beat albeit from the tightest of angle and a bouncing ball. The midfielder discarded any thoughts of controlling the ball and squaring for any teammates and opted to do a-la-Zoltan Gera effort which was in the end, embarassingly sliced to the safety of the keeper's hands.

Myjia then had several more chances including long range effort by Kenneth and Wai Meng before a surge into the penalty box earned Myjia a soft penalty. Wai Meng looked to have atoned for his miss when his shot in the box was blocked by the defender. Curiously, the referee judged the ball to have been handled by the defender and Myjia captain Vincent Low picked himself for the penalty kick. It could have been justice at work when the player took a weak penalty straight at the keeper and the score remained 0-0 until half time.

Strategies were discussed and flying winger Jackson Seetoh replaced Ronnie Low on the left wing with the latter offering more defensive abilities but lesser penetration.

A constant menace to the St James defence, the winger burst through on several ocassions and when he eventually tire off, he had a glorious chance to cap off his hardwork on the left.

A short corner was taken quickly and then swung in by Wilson and met by Jackson. The power and technique were immaculate but for a little bit more luck and accuracy, the ball would have headed for the top corner instead of just clearing the bar.

Zhiwei called up from the Reserves squad was to make a telling impact in the second half soon after he stepped in as his searching ball found Junhao in the box and after a short melee involving Mingchun and defenders after Junhao's initial shot, the ball ricocheted to the latter who dispatched it with confidence to give Myjia a precious 1-0 lead.

Wilkin Tan showed his increasing aggression when his tackle almost provoked the right St James attacker into a retaliation. The Myjia defence held solid with Jerry launching himself into several well-timed sliding tackles until Delvin's uncharacteristic error almost cost Myjia the match.

As the players trooped out of the shower relieved to be back on winning ways again, a forlorn looking Delvin walked out Kent Ridge alone quietly.

MYJIA BUOYANT DESPITE DEFEAT!

Yishun - A muchly anticpated match against Pierce United held at Orchid Park Secondary School was rudely interrupted by a heavy down pour which resulted in Myjia faithfuls suffering a 45 minutes delay before kickoff.

Having suffered a defeat in the previous match, Myjia were keen to get back into winning ways. However with a depleting Myjia squad, hopes for a victory were utterly slim with player/manager Vincent Low required to make tactical changes.

After a 45 minutes delay, the sound of the referee's whistle marks the start of a muchly anticipated match. With a makeshift defence, Myjia players were instructed to drop deep in attempt to deny falling a goal down early on in the game.

Myjia held their lines well and prevented Pierce United from creating any clear cut opportunities in the first period. Apart from holding a good defensive line, Myjia were comfortable passing the ball around and keeping possession. However with a makeshift defence consisting of chief striker Chia Junhao, Myjia had a blunt attack which did not cause much problems for the opposing defence apart from an one-on-one situation which tenacious midfielder Kenneth Koh missed.

0-0 was the scoreline during the break after a tightly contested first half. Having put in a wonderful and safe performance during the first half, player/manager Vincent Low urge his players to maintain the level of performance during his prep talk.

Second half started off similarly as the first which was tightly contested and both teams not creating any clear cut opportunities. However as the match continues, fatigue began to set in for Myjia as there were no extra substitutes on the bench.

Pierce United then began to dominate and created chances in attempt to break the deadlock but were denied on several occasions by Myjia. Myjia too had several opportunities of their own but failed to convert it. However the style in which Myjia passed the ball around and created their chances gave the fans something to cheer about.

The breakthrough for Pierce United came on the 65th minute after a poorly cleared ball was picked up by Pierce winger who had ample time and space to fire in a low curler which makeshift goalkeeper Vincent Low had no chance of denying him despite getting a fingertips to it.

With Myjia being a goal down, player/manager Vincent Low made several chances which resulted in chief striker Chia Junhao replacing Vincent between the posts. As Myjia began to push more men forward in a attempt to get an equaliser, Myjia became vulnerable to counterattack.

On the 75th minute, Myjia task of getting back into the game became tougher after a counterattack from Pierce United found the back of the net. Minutes later yet another counterattack from the opposition exposed Myjia vulnerable defence and found the back of the net which crushed any hopes of Myjia getting back into the game.

However despite the 3-0 scoreline, Myjia continue pushing men forward in attempt to get a consolation goal but came to no avail. The closest Myjia came to scoring was a powerful header from Vincent Low which was block off by Pierce lastman have a towering presence in their heart of defence.

Having played the full 90 minutes despite the delay of the kickoff, the referee blowed the whistle for full time. The final score on the scoreboard was 3-0 and Myjia have yet to find the back of the net for back to back matches. However despite the 3-0 defeat, Myjia players and fans would be looking forward to get back in winning ways after a wonderful passing display and movement.

Yishun- With the upcoming weekend fixture at Orchid Park Secondary School, Myjia FFC will be hoping to set the record straight and get back into winning ways after an inconsistent start to the season having won 8-2 for the first fixture followed by a 3-0 defeat.

With much enthusiasm ahead of this match, Myjia fans will be hoping that their side will be able to cope with the absence of Ng Yong Chun, Jerry Lim, Delvin Ng, Seetoh Jackson and Aaron Tan in a bid to get back in winning ways.

However, with Myjia being unbeaten in all three games played at Orchid Park Secondary School, latest notching a 8-2 victory on the ground, signs are bright that Myjia will get back in winning ways.

Macpherson - Myjia FFC begins pre-season at Macpherson Secondary against a local team on Saturday, 17 January 2009.The team is determined to put behind a poor last season which saw a record seven yellow cards dished out to Myjia players in the final game of the season.

Ahead of the new season, Myjia Online will include a couple of new features in the site namely - a yellow card and red card column for the team as well as updated player info including Tan Junxiong and Jerry Lim.

SEASON THREE ENDS WITH SORE DEFEAT

Dhoby Ghaut - Henderson Rovers stirling comeback victory summed up Myjia's season as The Family crashed to a 3-1 defeat against a team comprising lawyers and undergraduates.

Inconsistency and indiscipline has cost Myjia dearly this season and again both factors crept into Myjia on Saturday despite a fine first half.

A goalless first half showcased Myjia's potential with Vincent Low in fine form as he marshalled the backline superbly with Jerry Lim to keep the Rovers attack at bay.

Rovers No. 10 was a constant niggle with his unsightly style of play and penchant for diving at the slightest touch. It was to nobody's surprise when the game began to flare up in the second half as Kenneth took offence at Rover's No. 8 immaculate impersonation of his captain's art of clipping of opponent's ankles - the captain in question: the irritable No. 10.

The referee who had an average game, failed to take sterner action against the No. 8 when he taunted Kenneth to hit him and from that point onwards, mayhem broke loose in Myjia's ranks.

In between the start of the second half and that incident, Junhao had time to hit his 22nd goal of the season with the goal of the season.

Collecting the ball at the edge of the penalty box, the poacher took one touch and with his second, sent a dipping volley into the bottom corner with the keeper stranded.

Myjia were having the upper hand with the goal but all advantage was lost when Vincent smudged his own performance with a schoolboy error - failing to control with his chest that led to Rovers scoring an ill-deserved equaliser.

Myjia were in sixes and sevens as substituition created confusion and inconsistency in the passing and the hapless Wai Meng was of no help either.

The midfielder who celebrated his 29th birthday two weeks ago was a spectator throughout the game and his only contribution was to not get a yellow card in a game where seven Myjia players were booked.

With the midfield missing and the team is disarray, fuming Myjia keeper Raymond Tan had seen enough and had enough of Rovers No. 10 antics when the latter stole a kick at Raymond in a 50-50 situation.

Raymond lashed out in anger and appeared to stamp on the striker and was lucky to be still on the pitch. But it was effectively game over for Raymond who lost his composure and never really went back into the game.

Receiving a backpass, Raymond attempted to dribble past a striker and when the ball was nicked without a foul, the game was lost as was the plot.

2-1 to Rovers and with tackles flying in, the referee had to get Vincent to control the team who were united in spirit and anger at the way the game was falling out of Myjia's reach with Rovers antics.

Eric Low had to be restrained as he abused the referee and had to be eventually subsituted to keep 11 men on the field before Rovers scored a lucky goal with from the byline.

Myjia were never in the game for most of the second half and on hindsight, such tempers flaring from players could only boil down to the close bond shared by Myjia players who were enraged when they see any unjust actions toward their fellow players.

"Losing is one thing, but fighting in Myjia's colours is disgraceful. We should use this unity we share to translate it to victory whenever we face adversity," remarked team manager Vincent Low.

Tuas - Seetoh Jackson faces a late fitness test for Saturday's match against Henderson Rovers at Henderson. The mecurial winger broke his toe nail during Myjia's training camp at Kota Tinggi and was spotted with a bandage around the injured toe during Myjia's New Year celebrations.

Fullback Wilkin Tan has been declared fit for the match however and will be looking to add on to his solitary goal this season.

With the re-opening of the transfer window, Myjia will be looking to release several players from the team list while securing the service of Zhi Wei on a permanent basis after he impressed during the last few games of the season. INJURIES MOUNT FROM KOTA TRIP

Singapore - Myjia's recent eventful and memorable training trip to Kota Rainforest Resort has seen the injury list lengthen after several all-out tigerish four-a-side games.

Winger Jackson Seetoh suffered the worst injury after his toe nail was literally clipped out from the skin in an accidental clash with cousin and fellow midfielder Kenneth Koh.

The whole recovery process is expected to take up to six weeks which would see Jackson miss out on the last game of the season at Bowen.

The other injured players are rightback Wilkin Tan with two broken toenails plus two bruised kneecap and Ebenzer Low with a chipped toenail.

Yishun - In a rollercoaster season, Myjia is constantly hampered with players being unavailable for action and the inability to sustain their form. However Myjia managed to rise to the occasion against Ron Blue FC during the weekend in a match which was deemed as a rematch. In the first meeting against Ron Blue FC, Myjia unbeaten start to the season came to an end with a 5-2 defeat.

On this occasion with seven first team players unavailable for this fixture, Myjia had to send out their second string. Instead of backing down from the fight, Myjia brought the fight to Ron Blue FC.

Whistle filled Orchid Park Secondary much to the pleasure of the players. Despite starting the match with a string of passes and well-timed tackles, Myjia were put on the backfoot when the referee pointed to the penalty spot after a mistimed tackle by Myjia stopper. Ron Blue's striker Tony calmly placed the ball on the spot and sent makeshift keeper Vincent Low the wrong way.

Instead of allowing Ron Blue to build on their one goal advantage, Myjia bounced back strongly and dominated possession. Jerry and Waimeng partnership in the middle of the park blossomed as the game goes by and was a key factor why Myjia had large amount of possession.

On the 21th minute, Myjia made their chances count when a sublimed freekick found Jerry who broke the offside trap with a well-timed run to head the ball past the helpless Ron Blue's keeper. Momentum of the match began to sway in the path of Myjia as Myjia began to pass the ball around the pitch with confidence.

Myjia had another chance to increase their lead four minutes later when an unfit Delvin was set through on goal only for his shot to be denied by the outstretched leg of Ron Blue's keeper.

However it was not long before Myjia turned their dominance into goal when a delicate through-ball by Jerry played Myjia's loanee RC through on goal. However instead of taking it first time, RC showed his composure and rounded the keeper before placing the ball into the back of an empty net.

Myjia continued to dominate the match and was denied a two goal cushion by Ron Blue's keeper outstretched leg once again after a wonderful dribbling ability displayed by Jerry which played him through on goal.

Thirty-five minutes into play when Myjia's midfield general Waimeng step up for a corner kick. He placed the ball and took a few step back before shouting across field to Wilson "Winning eleven!" which got Ron Blue's defenders confused. He then took a cross to the near post which found silky midfielder Jerry who fired the ball just over the bar. Jerry was yet again a thorn in Ron Blue's defence.

Five minutes before half time, Myjia doubled their advantage when Waimeng's superbly taken freekick flew past the keeper and found the back of the net. 3-1 was the scoreline which Myjia seems to be able to bring back into the dressing room at half time.

However that was not the case as with a minute left to play before the half time whistle, Ron Blue pulled a goal back into the game when their striker was first to react to the rebound of a shot outside the box hit the crossbar.

3-2 was the score on the scoreboard during the interval. Myjia player/manager Vincent made a tactical reshuffle with another makeshift goalkeeper Aaron to play in goal and the player/manager himself spearheading Myjia's attack in the absence of chief striker Chia Junhao.

Second half began with momentum and possession swaying constantly like a pendulum. Ron Blue had launched a few attack but they failed to break down Myjia stubborn defence marshalled by new signing Zhiwei.

Myjia had their own share of attack but failed to make them count. After a superb passing movement, Vincent was set free from the defenders. However despite Wilson Tan being in a better position to take a shot, Vincent who had his back facing the goal turned and fired a shot over the bar.

Myjia on several occasion was guilty of making one pass to many which resulted in a loss of possession. A tightly contested second half gave Myjia hopes that they might have a victory in their bag.

However on the 80th minute, Myjia was stung by yet another late goal. On this occasion, Ron Blue's winger Siong dribbled pass an unfit Delvin and took a shot on goal which had a slight deflection before it found the back of the net.

With the score tied a 3 goals a piece, Myjia tried to break down Ron Blue's defence in the closing stages of the game but to no avail. Thus at the final whistle, the final score on the scoreboard was 3-3.

Despite putting in a courgeous display, Myjia felt the blues yet again with a late goal which denied Myjia of a victory. However despite the result, Myjia camp will definitely have something to look forward to as they head for a training camp in Kota Tinggi, Johor.

Mingchun Opens Myjia Account

Dunearn - Myjia forward Chan Mingchun notched his first goal for Myjia with a typical poacher's goal in the team's 2-1 defeat to St. James FC.

The disappointing result leaves Myjia hanging the in bottom half of the league table and their misery was compounded with the below-par performance of player-manager Vincent Low.

Vincent's feeble attempt to dribble his way out of trouble in the 25th minute was dangerous to say the least and so it proved when he was tackled and the opponent sent a superb shot swirling past Raymond from just outside the box.

Myjia's response to the goal was heartening as the team upped their game especially with skilful left winger Jackson Seetoh proving a real thorn for the St. James defence.

It was however midfielder Leong Wai Meng who had the first real chance for Myjia when he charged into the box and could only managed a weak toe-poke towards the keeper.

Myjia smelt blood and the hunt for the equalising goal was well and truly on.

Jackson marauded continuously down the left flank in one of his best games for Myjia and when his square pass from the byline was fortuitously stopped by the impressive No. 18, the warning signs were there for St. James FC.

Jackson continually outrun, outdribbled the right defence of St. James and Myjia finally reaped the rewards five minutes before halftime.

Another brilliant square pass from Myjia's flying winger found Vincent in the box and the veteran showed great awareness to pass to the well-positioned Chan Mingchun to poach in his first goal for Myjia.

Myjia's spirit were lifted by the goal as the team celebrated with one of the quieter member of squad.

By the halftime whistle, Myjia had seemingly wrestled their way back into the game only for Vincent to make an error of judgement in tinkering with the formation and substituition.

No doubt, Vincent's job is probably the hardest in Singapore, having to ensure every player gets his fair amount of play time as well as winning games to keep team morale up.

Nonetheless, Myjia's backline in need of an experienced campaigner crumbled when Vincent subbed himself out and St James gladly broke the offside trap to go 2-1 up.

Defender Jerry Lim almost equalised for Myjia with a peach of a freekick which the keeper brilliantly tipped over.

Myjia continued to pile on the pressure and when Wai Meng's through ball fell just short of Vincent's run, the game seemed all but over.

However, the drama was to unfold much later in the game.

Mild-mannered youngster Ebenzer Low showed his inexperience when he allowed the right winger to cut inside him and head towards the goal. In his desperation, Ebenzer pulled the winger down and was rightly red-carded.

When the final whistle blew, it proved to be a really disappointing result to lose to a young side but the one silver lining is Mingchun's goal that will hopefully spur the youngster on to a goalscoring run for Myjia.

Bedok- For two consecutive matches, Myjia were without their custodian Raymond Tan who was out with personal commitment. Without any reserve goalkeeper, Myjia had to call upon player/manager Vincent Low whom for the second match in the running played in goal.

Not only were Myjia missing the presence of Raymond, Myjia were also missing the likes of Waimeng, Yongchun, Mingchun, and Eugene. With a thin squad to choose from, Myjia unleashed their new signing Zhiwei whom is capable of playing in a stopper role with recommendation from chief striker Chia Junhao. Besides lanky striker Ronnie Low return to action having missed 3 games due to personal commitment.

With a crowd of 11 filled with anticipation, the referee blew his whistle to signal the start of the match. Right from the time the whistle filled the pitch, Myjia dominated the possession and began to threaten the Coasters' goal. However Myjia did not take their early chances.

On the 15th minute mark, Myjia finally got a break through from a beautifully taken corner from Kenneth which was beautifully headed past the Coasters' keeper by Chia Junhao. That goal signal the return of the goal scoring form of the chief striker.

Myjia had chance aplenty but they did not take it. On the 25th minute, Ronnie was set through on goal after a deflection but only to fire a shot past the post. On the half an hour mark, Delvin use his blistering pace to shake of the defender to find himself in a one on one situation with the keeper but instead of firing the ball past the keeper, his shot fell straight to the keeper. Had Myjia taken their opportunities, Myjia would have a three goals advantage on the half an hour mark.

Despite the constant attack by Myjia, Coasters also had their fair share of chances. One of which was a delicate cross to their striker whom would have a high chance of putting the ball into the back of the net had makeshift keeper Vincent came out of his line and punch the ball away. Not only did Vincent Low did his part to keep Coasters' attack out, Myjia's back four played a crucial part in preventing any clearcut goal scoring opportunity.

39 minutes into the game, Myjia doubled their tally through yet another corner but this time it was taken by Jackson. Instead of heading the ball past the keeper, chief striker opted to control the ball down before firing an unstoppable shot past the keeper. That goal was Junhao 12 goal in 7 games. What a way to mark his return to form!

In the closing moment of the first half, Delvin had yet another chance to increase Myjia lead after a shot from Wilkin was push out to the feet of Delvin by the keeper. This time instead of opting for power, he fired in a weak shot and was cleared of the line by a Coasters' defender.

That was the final chance of the first period as Myjia took a comfortable two goal lead back to the dressing room. Delighted was the word to describe the mood in the dressing room as player/manager Vincent Low gave his usual pep talk.

Second period began similarly to the first and Myjia extended their lead through lanky striker Ronnie Low after being played through by Wilson. 3-0 was the score on the scoreboard and it seems all over for Bedok Coasters.

However they felt that they could still get something out of the match and they began to dominate the game. Their never say die attitude got them back into the match on the hour mark after a superb long range effort from their midfielder flew past Vincent. 3-1 was the scoreline as the Coasters are beginning to grow in confidence.

They continued to pressure and on the 75th minute, a Coasters' striker whom seem to be in a offline position when the ball played to him fired the ball past Vincent whom simply had no chance of saving it.

Myjia were holding on to their precious victory and they had a chance to increase it after Ebenzer capitalise on a defensive error and send a curling ball to the centre of the area only to past all Myjia's strikers. Besides, had Delvin and Mark taken their one on one opportunities in the second period, the victory was already in the bag for Myjia.

In the dying moment of the game, Vincent made two superb saves to protect the victory. One of which resulted in a collision between Aaron and Vincent. A tricky cross in from the Coasters' winger was destined to fall to their striker had makeshift keeper had not come out and punch the ball clear.The other was a superb fingertip save after a superb short from Coasters' midfielder which seems destined for the bottom corner of the goal. The 2 superb saves would definitely had made custodian Raymond Tan be proud of.

Myjia continued to hang on and heaved a sigh of relieve after the referee blew the whistle to signal the end of the match. 3-2 was the final score as Myjia seems to have found back their winning ways with their third win in forth matches after changing their match kit. It will definitely bring about cheers throughout the Myjia camp.

EVERTON KIDS WHACKS DEPLETED MYJIA FFC

Punggol - Days before the crunch tie against Everton Kids, Myjia FFC suffered several blows with news of players being unavailable for the fixture due to personal commitment.

However, despite having a much depleted squad, Myjia camp was determined to break the winless streak against Everton Kids as player/manager Vincent Low sent out the best starting eleven in which was possible with the much depleted squad.

Myjia started off the match brightly by closing down quickly on Everton Kids which denied them time and space to play their usual passing game. 10 minutes in to the match, Myjia got their reward for consistent effort to close down Everton Kids through attacking dynamo Chia Junhao who capitalised on an error by the Everton Kids' defence.

Minutes later, Myjia doubled their lead after a through-ball played by Jerry sent Junhao through on goal. Having rediscover his scoring touch, Junhao made no mistake and put the ball into the back of the net.

However, Myjia should have increased their lead further have several of Myjia players not squandered their opportunities. The misses and fatigue of Myjia then allowed Everton Kids to build momentum and they began to dominate the possession.

Constant attack down the flanks by the Everton Kids began stretch Myjia's defence and Everton Kids finally got a foot back into the match after winning a freekick at the edge of the area. A sweetly struck freekick found an Everton Kids striker who broke the offside trap and made no mistake to put the ball past keeper Raymond Tan.

During the closing stages of the first half, Everton Kids drew level after a clearance from a throw in fell to the feet of a Everton Kids midfielder who struck the ball close to perfection and send the ball past a fully stretch Raymond.

The second half was a one-sided affair as fatigue began to set in for Myjia which enabled Everton Kids to dominate most of the possession. Minutes after the restart, Everton Kids won a corner through another wingplay. This time, a superb delivery from the corner allowed their man to head the ball home. 3-2 was the scoreline as Everton Kids showed great resilience to fight back from two goals down.

On the hour mark, Everton Kids doubled their lead after a counterattack set their winger free from the defence. However the winger unselfishly crossed the ball to an approaching striker who took full advantage of the opportunity after a decision mistake to clear the ball instead of heading the ball away by youngster Ebenzer.

Everton Kids completed their superb comeback on the 75th minute with yet another attack down the flank. The goal was the icing on the cake as Everton Kids proved to strong for Myjia's depleted squad.

Bowen - Hours before kickoff Myjia suffered another blow with news of hardworking fullback Wilkin Tan and tenacious midfielder Kenneth Koh being unavailable for the fixture against Dunearn Old Boys due to personal commitment.

Despite missing several key players from the squad due to personal commitment, Myjia fans had something to cheer about with the release of a muchly anticipated new kit.

Besides, Myjia were given a further boost in morale with the availability of veteran midfielder Eugene Low to the squad. Besides, Myjia were able to secure a short-term loan deal for silky midfielder Wan from Harding FC.

The sound of the referee's whistle filled the pitch as Myjia began the match confidently. Myjia began to pass the ball around confidently and controlled the tempo of the game. Myjia had much of the possession from the start of the game but were not doing much with it.

However the first chance came when a ball was played through to Junhao who fired a shot in only to be denied by the keeper. The chance was the opening Myjia was looking for as they began to pile pressure on the Old Boys defence.

Despite constantly having pressure in defence, the Old Boys had their fair share of attacking threats only to be let down by wayward finishing and the brilliance of Myjia defence marshalled by veteran Vincent Low to nullify their attack with offside traps.

On the 20th minute, Myjia thought they had taken the initiative when Jerry fired a shot which scrap pass the side of the post. Minutes later, Jerry had another chance to put Myjia in the lead only to fire the ball wide across goal.

On the half-hour mark, Myjia finally broke the dead lock when winger Wilson battled hard to win back the ball from the sideline before releasing the ball to Jerry who showed excellent vision and passing ability to pick out chief striker Junhao. Upon recieving the ball, Junhao showed composure to sidestep the keeper and made no mistake by slotting the ball in to an empty net.

Myjia had chance to extend their lead with a sweetly struck freekick by loanee Wan only to be denied by the fingertip of the keeper.

Myjia carried their 1-0 led into the break with a beautifully taken goal by Junhao and the solid performance by the defence especially Ng Yongchun.

Myjia began the second half with confirdence from the first half which Myjia showed composure by passing the ball around. However the Old Boys showed desperation to fight back from the deficit by switching to a more offensive formation of 3-5-2.

Their switch to a more attacking front definitely proved to have an impact to the game with the Old Boys having more options going forward. However their attack were constantly broken down by man-of-the-match Yongchun. His crucial intervention throughout the match was a key to why Myjia were still in the lead.

However by going all out in attack, it definitely left the Old Boys defence vulnerable to counter-attacks. Chief striker Junhao proved the point with an exquisite chip over the the keeper after being played through by Jerry,who was on the top of his game, during a counter attack.

Despite having a two goal cushion, the Old Boys began to cause Myjia's defence problem and they were close to getting a goal back only to be denied by the double save from Aaron who was filing the boots of shotstopper Raymond Tan. Superb save it definitely was by Aaron, however minutes later the Old Boys got their reward with a easy tap-in having break the offside trap.

The play then began to be bob down in the middle of the park. However on third quarter of the game, Myjia manage to put the game to rest from a brilliant set piece by Wan which release speed demon Delvin through on goal. Focus and Composure was definitely required by Delvin and he definitely showed it as he calmly slotted the ball past the keeper. 3-1 was the scoreline and the match was definitely not within the reach of the Old Boys unless they were a miracle.

Pasir Ris - Ahead of this saturday clash at Bowen secondary school, Myjia's officials have confirm that goal scoring midfielder Waimeng and shot-stopper Raymond will be unavailable for this fixture due to personal commitment.

With this two key players set to sit out for this match, it will definitely give player/manager Vincent Low a few question to ponder on before deciding on the starting line-up.

Player/Manager Vincent told the club official website:"I will definitely find replacements which will be able to fill the boots of the two players. Besides, I am confident that we are able to bounce back from defeat with the current squad."

The team will be in full voice next Saturday to celebrate the wedding of one of the very own who has grew up with most of the team in the Myjia Academy. Congrats Jackson!

In other news, midfielder Wilson Tan is in the midst of his Olympic challenge with his childhood nemesis Ben.

Editor: We Shall Never Be Humiliated Again!

Chinatown - Almost a week after Myjia were humiliated 7-2 by Meichin RC, hitting the lowest depth following weeks of lacklustre display, Myjia were finally greeted with some good news.

Team Manager Vincent Low has revealed to this website an offer from lottery company, 9510, that negotiations are underway for a brand new set of jerseys for Myjia.

Apparently, it seems the luck of the old white jerseys is fast running out, best demonstrated by chief striker Chia Junhao's plunging form and Myjia's appalling run.

I digress back to the previous game where Myjia half-heartedly took a 2-1 lead thru two well taken goals by Junhao and as soon as the second goal was scored, Myjia took its foot off the pedal.

Victory was anything but certain especially even before the halfway stage and player-manager Vincent Low confessed to this website that he might have erred allowing unproven penalty taker Wilkin Tan to take a generously awarded penalty in the mid stages of the first half.

With all respect to Wilkin, Myjia might have done better to take a two goal cushion and maybe in the process allow Junhao to complete his first hat-trick of the season. Alas, Wilkin fluffed his penalty and Meichin RC subsequently scored two goals in quick succession to go 3-2 up.

At that point, it was the point of no return. Meichin saw the game for their taking and did not need a second invitation, racing to such a commanding lead that they saw the game as a foregone conclusion.

In came their embarassing show of disrespect which their kind are reknowned for. Giggles and jokes while Myjia struggled to come back into the match. When their fifth goal came via a penalty from of all players, their goalkeeper, you never knew humiliation could go any lower. But lower it did go when the keeper, on his jog back to his goal post, openly remarked, "This is insulting".

It is plain humiliating to be leading 2-1 and yet crumbling to a 7-2 defeat and being insulted that way by opponents.

So, Myjia, as we celebrate a new set of jerseys, let us not forget to put in a good fight in every game we play - never mind if we lose, but the fighting spirit must be there. Let us not be complacent and at the very least, try for a two-goal lead before we tinker with the strategy - time permitting.

Myjia notched a second straight win last week with a well-deserved 5-1 victory over Sky United last Saturday.

New signing Jerry Lim opened the scoring before Junhao added a pair of well-taken goals to put Myjia three goals up. Wilkin added his name on the scoresheet with a chip over the keeper from an acute angle. Midfielder Waimeng then wrapped up the game with a goal off a freekick.

In the aftermath of the huge victory and a holiday break, several Myjia players were photographed with their partners and fans smashing an arcade machine with plastic balls in jubilation.

Elsewhere, Myjia Online express its sympathy and condolences to Myjia supporter Amanda on the demise of her Grandfather.

BELOW-PAR MYJIA LABOUR TO VICTORY

Yusof Ishak - In what is fast becoming a worrying season for Myjia, the team played well below expectations despite the presence of a record crowd.

Much has been expected from Myjia after player-manager Vincent Low promised a much improved performance after weeks of lacklustre display from the family team - and they almost did not disappoint.

As early as the fourth minute, hopes were raised when energetic midfielder Kenneth Koh raced through the Diethlem defence only to land his finish over the crossbar. The miss was to mark a series of wasteful finishing by Myjia which to the team's credit, totally outplayed the opposition in the first half but had only a goal to show for.

After missing a host of chances which were more than the fingers on both hands, Myjia finally broke Diethlem's resistance with a rare goal by utility player Ng Yongchun.

Latching on to a cross field pass from centreback Jerry Lim, Yongchun outpaced the last man before slamming his shot past a hapless keeper for his first ever goal in Myjia's colors and Myjia's first in the match.

The goal was to a certain degree, an unjust punishment for a Diethlem side which had done brilliantly to keep out Myjia's attacks despite being outplayed for large portion of the first half. Myjia were to carry a slender one-nil lead into the second half and one suspects complacency might be a reason to explain the poor goal output.

Carrying on their good work from the first half, Diethlem continued to frustrate Myjia with their keeper in top form. To their credit, Diethlem displayed a positive attitude despite the one goal setback and were duly rewarded when they pulled a goal back from one of their rare attacks to leave Myjia in shock.

Launching a quick counter attack in the 75th minute, Diethlem FC had decided it was time to teach Myjia a lesson in the art of finishing when their striker struck a sweet shot to the bottom corner after beating the Myjia defence. One real attempt in the second half and one goal to the good. One goal apiece and Myjia were momentarily stunned.

Just as it seemed the misses were to haunt Myjia, the homegrown trio of Vincent, Waimeng and Ebenzer had other ideas.

Ebenzer found space down the right flank in the 80th minute and evaded a challenge before finding Waimeng in the penalty box. The midfielder's late surge into the box caught the Diethlem defence by surprise and before they could react, Waimeng's cutback was met powerfully by team captain Vincent Low to steer Myjia back into the lead.

The goal appeared to take the punch out of the resistant Diethlem side. For all the effort and hardwork they had put in to put themselves level, a goal so late in the game proved to be the breaking point for them.

Recent signing Jerry Lim soon added another goal for Myjia after Waimeng put him through before the latter wrapped up a labourious victory with a injury time goal as he rounded the keeper to slot into an empty net.

A completely unconvincing 4-1 victory to Myjia, the one bright spark was the debut of another product from the Myjia academy, Mark Ho - scouted by Myjia local scout Kelly Koh.

The young forward showed glimpses of his ability and with a few more appearances in the first team, Mark could well be hitting the net for Myjia with regularity.

MYJIA STUTTERING FORM CONTINUES

Yishun- After a stuttering form throughout the season, pressure was rapidly increasing for Myjia to deliver. However the situation was not assisted with the absence of key players Seetoh Jackson, Leong Waimeng and Ng Yong Chun.

Despite missing several key players, Myjia started off the match brightly with Junhao leading the attack. However the series of attacks came to no avail.

Myjia persistence finally paid off on the 14th minute with a swift counter-attack movement. The ball cleared by the defence was picked up by Kenneth Koh who ran close to half the pitch before releasing the ball for Junhao. Beautiful first touch by Junhao allow him to set the ball up nicely for a shot. With a recent dip in form, there was increasing pressure for Junhao to deliver and he made no mistake and fired an unstoppable shot past the keeper.

However instead of building on the 1-0 lead, Myjia allowed Yishun Malays to dictate the tempo of the game. Yishun Malays' left winger was a constant torn for Myjia's defence with his blistering pace and silky skills despite his small frame.

On the 25th minute mark, Yishun Malays finally crawled their way back into the match with a quick break down the left wing and a defensive lapse.

1-1 was the scoreline with 20 minutes left on the clock before halftime, Myjia began to sense the importance of having a lead during a break. Myjia then regain composure and began to build up their momentum.

The breakthrough came on the 35th minute when Youngster Ebenzer put the finish touch to the end of a wonderful cross by chief striker Chia Junhao. 2-1 was the the scoreline and it was Ebenzer's 3rd goal of the season.

2-1 was the score displayed on the scoreboard as both team heads for half time. During half time Player/Manager Vincent Low made his usual half time teamtalk.

Minutes after the restart, Yishun Malays piled pressure and won a corner. A wonderful delivery from the corner resulted in a wonderful header by a Yishun Malays' defender. For the second time during the match Yishun Malays had drew level.

With the score levelled at 2 a piece, Myjia made a tactical reshuffle with Plyer/Manager Vincent Low pairing up with Junhao up front and new signing Jerry and Delvin marshalling the defence. Troubled by the flank play of Yishun Malays, Myjia defence were force to drop deep.

The tactical reshuffle almost paid off with a couple of wonderfully built-up attack only to be denied by poor cutting edge infront of goal. On the 70th minute, Jerry was denied his 1st goal for Myjia when his goalbound freekick was saved by fingertip of the keeper.

Yishun Malays also had their share of chances also to be let down by their finishing touch infront of goal and the heroics of shot-stopper Raymond.

In the closing minutes of the match, victory seems destined for Yishun Malays with a one on one situation with Raymond. However the shot was superbly tip away by an outstretch arm of Raymond. Besides, there was a sequel to the attack and a thunderous followed up strike seems destined for the back of the net. Yet again, the strike was punched away by Raymond and was safely cleared by Myjia's defender.

Due to the heroics of stop-stopper Raymond Tan, Myjia avoided defeat with the scoreline of 2-2.

Pasir Ris - Vincent Low is convinced Myjia can play much better football than what we have been dishing out for the past weeks.

Despite ending a run of two consecutive defeats with a flattering 4-1 win over Friends of Aaron, Vincent was less than pleased with the team performance.

"With all due respect to Friends of Aaron, Myjia should be at least 3 goals up at halftime," remarked Vincent in reference to the slender one-goal lead at the halfway mark against F.o.A.

The goal, courtesy of a curling freekick from Jackson Seetoh came after Myjia spurned a series of goalscoring opportunities and as Vincent lamented, "our standards have dipped and I am at a loss as to the reason behind it."

Vincent briefly lambasted the team at halftime and Myjia at least showed a little improvement with goals in the second half from Leong Wai Meng with a brace before Wilson Tan wrapped up an unconvincing Myjia performance with a late goal as he rounded the keeper brilliantly before slotting into an empty net.

Agreeing with his manager, Wai Meng added, "I thought Ronnie did brilliantly with two chances, one of which he dribbled past the defence but his shot was smothered by the keeper and the other off a superb cross by Wilkin which Ronnie narrowly missed. We are just lacking the luck, the lucky break when our strikers start to score freely again."

Ironically, Wai Meng himself missed a glorious chance for a hat-trick when he opted to lob the goalkeeper when a simple shot would have been the better choice. The midfielder has since apologised for his arrogance.

With the next fixture less than three days away, Vincent would be hoping that Myjia start putting away the chances and treat the fans to a much better brand of football.

EBENZER BEMOANS LACK OF LUCK BUT IS HOPEFUL OF A TURN IN TIDE

Pasir Ris- With two heavy defeats on the trot, Myjia faces an uphill task of bouncing back on track this weekend at Balestier Hill Secondary School.

However, despite recent criticism by an unnamed source, Youngster Low Ebenzer defended Myjia of its recent dip in form and seems optimistic of the chances to bounce back on track this saturday. In a recent report, Ebenzer told Myjia Online: "We are only facing a minor set back with injury jinx and lack of luck in front of goal. We will give it our best shot in the upcoming match. By going into the match with determination and focus, We will bounce back."

" WE WERE WOEFUL "

Bowen - An unnamed source from Myjia has labelled the team's performances this season as woeful, particularly after yet another heavy defeat against Buffalo United on Saturday afternoon.

Player-manager Vincent Low moved astutely in the transfer market prior to the match with the twin loan capture of Wan and Xiong from Harding United FC to bolster Myjia's rank.

The team was in an upbeat mood as the players played their first match in three weeks and the mood was carried into Myjia's play as both teams traded passes for passes.

It was Buffalo who drew first blood though as a well-orchestrated attacking move saw the Buffalo strike pairing combining superbly to leave Raymond stranded for an opening Buffalo goal.

The scoreline soon read 2-0 to Buffalo and you can just sense that when the second goal went in, Myjia's enthusiasm for the match ebbed away.

Chia Junhao had another ideas though.

Latching on to a hopeful punt from Kenneth Koh after some inspired harassing from Ronnie Low offered Myjia possession, Junhao dummied the Buffalo keeper to score possibly the easiest goal of his career - and open goal from less than six yards out.

2-1 and just when Myjia sensed a possible comeback, any little flame of optimism was doused when Buffalo showed their class with a third goal.

In the 39th minute though, the referee handed Myjia a lifeline into the game as he deemed Eric Low to have been fouled by the Buffalo defence in the penalty box.

Up stepped Junhao and cruelly, the usually-clinical striker hit a poor effort to leave Myjia trailing 3-1 at halftime.

Vincent Low attempted to raise the team morale during the halftime peptalk but to no avail.

Within minutes of the restart, Myjia had trailed 4-1.

Vincent then gambled on a tactical change, shifting central midfielder Leong Wai Meng to the right wing and the gamble almost paid off with Junhao hitting the bar with a bullet header off a Wai Meng cross.

That proved to be the only real attempt on goal after the tactical switch until loanee Xiong provided a glimpse of hope with a brilliant goal.

A corner taken by Kenneth was untidily half-cleared to the edge of the penalty box and with his first touch, leftback Xiong unleashed a right-footed rocket past a masse of bodies for a goal reminiscent of Germany leftback Philip Lahm's ability.

Myjia attempted to push bodies forward and despite the best effort of Jackson Seetoh to outsprint the defenders, the strength of the defenders prevail against the pace of Myjia forward and when the fifth Buffalo goal went in, Myjia had humbly bowed to a classy performance from a young Buffalo side.

MYJIA FALL DESPITE SUNNY'S RETURN

Huayi - Ahead of this fixture, Myjia FFC were missing two key players Kenneth and Delvin despite the return of the giant defender Sunny. His presence gave Myjia a boost in morale but was not enough to prevent Myjia falling to a narrow defeat to Western Malays with the scoreline of 4-3.

Myjia started off the first half brightly with Jackson winning a spotkick after a tackle from Western Malays stopper. With a chance to give Myjia a lead, Waimeng, who is enjoying a superb form, made no mistake in slotting the ball past the keeper for his 10 goals of the season.

Despite missing his regular partner Kenneth in midfield, Myjia manage to keep the midfield tight which resulted in large amount of possession of the first half to be kept in the middle of the park.

On the half an hour mark, a beautifully taken freekick by Waimeng was slotted in by Wilkin who thought to have gotten his 1st goal of the season. However celebrations were spoilt by the referee who disallowed the goal with a tight call which adjudged youngster Wilkin Tan to be in an offside position.

Momentum began to favour Western Malays and Myjia were then force to lay deep in their half with Western Malays launching attacks down the flanks.

On the closing moment of the first half, Western Malays got their reward for their constant attack with a lucky deflected goal. A clearance header by veteran Vincent bounced of the head of Western Malays giant striker and flew into the back of the net.

Myjia headed into the dressing room with a 1-1 scoreline.

Western Malays started of the second half brightly with 3 goals in the space of 15 minutes. However the 3 goals hardly put a dent in the confidence of Myjia instead Myjia tried to fight their way back.

On the 70th minutes, Myjia saw slight hope in crawling their way back into the match when a long ball played by Sunny from defence found chief striker Chia Junhao who dribbled past two defenders before slotting the ball at the bottom corner which gave the keeper no chance.

With an increasing confidence in the Myjia side, Myjia began to launch waves of attack. However the momentum was stopped when tenacious midfielder Waimeng fell awkwardly from a tackle by the Western Malays defender. The injury was a jittery moment for the Myjia fans as Waimeng is currently enjoying a form of his life.

In the closing moment of the match, Sunny mark his return to the side with a superbly taken header. He rose with great height and headed the ball past the helpless Western Malays keeper.

The goal came a little to late for Myjia and the match ended in 4-3 defeat. However Myjia fans have something to cheer about despite the defeat as Myjia FFC showed perseverance in their play and the return of the giant defender Sunny Rai.

Jackson Flies Back For Myjia

West Spring - Myjia sprang back to life from a lacklustre April to register their first win in a month in front of a season record crowd of 8 spectators.

Amongst the record crowd was injured Myjia winger Delvin Ng who showed his dedication to the team with his appearance at the stadium. The unfortunate winger will be in the treatment room for an indefinite period of time after tests confirmed Myjia's worst fears - a torn knee ligament, albeit partial.

Delvin watched the entire match as his teammates went about dismantling an inexperience PDX side.

In-form midfielder Leong Wai Meng opened the scoring in the 26th minute after a fine centre from Ebenzer Low. Wai Meng showed a decent first touch to control the ball and his second touch was a volley that went beyond the keeper's reach just outside the six yard box.

Myjia could have established a lead as early as the third minute when forward Ronnie Low slid in from an impressie Wilson Tan cutback from the byline.

The ball deflected off a defender and away from the keeper before another defender attempted to slice the ball away to safety. In the ensuing melee, veteran forward Eric Low pounced a fraction too late before the keeper recovered to hold on to the ball.

Myjia were brilliant on both wings manned by Wilson on the left and the fast-improving Ebenzer on the right. The PDX fullbacks were constantly pegged back by the brilliance of the Myjia wingers and after a neat buildup, Wai Meng provided Myjia with the lead with his 8th goal in seven games.

More was to come for Myjia. A schoolboy error from the PDX keeper saw him handle a throw-in and Myjia hotshot Chia Junhao showed a great degree of understanding with Wai Meng as soon as an indirect freekick was rewarded.

Junhao rushed to take the freekick and Wai Meng in tandem surged from midfield in anticipation as the entire PDX team was caught napping. The well-flighted cross came in and Wai Meng met the ball in mid air with a gravity-defying diving header. Myjia were sent two goals up and on their way to a victory!

The manner of Myjia's play suggested the players knew the game was theirs for the taking and after trooping in jubilantly at halftime, the players continued their fine passing and movement in the second half.

Chances were hardly short in supply and it was a purely experimental attack that saw the chances go abegging. Wilkin Tan replaced Ronnie Low in attack with the latter filling in impressively at rightback. Wilkin himself was guilty of a couple of excellent chances as did Junhao who is in some sort of a mini goal drought at the moment.

With the excellent Ng Yong Chun sweeping the defence, PDX were never likely to score from open play and when they were awarded a freekick in the 66th minute, the PDX midfielder gave a glimpse of what was to come as his shot palmed off Raymond Tan's hands and onto the crossbar and then to safety.

Despite Myjia's dominance, the inevitable happened - Myjia's habit of conceding at least a goal a game. PDX were awarded another freekick from a similar position and with a wicked bend, the ball flew to the top right corner which Raymond had no answer for.

2-1 and Myjia suddenly looked nervy as the confidence previously displayed slowly ebbed away.

The pair of Tan brothers had other ideas though.

Wilson almost added his second goal of the game when he met Wai Meng's freekick with a perfect header only for the keeper to fortuitously bundle the ball over the bar.

AARON OUT ON LOAN

Tuas - Myjia defender Aaron Tan has been loaned out for up to one month following an emergency request from an unnamed club. The defender will miss the next two fixtures as Myjia tries to cope with the loss.

BOON LAY - After a week where midfielder Eric Low barely recovered from the chickenpox virus and in the process infecting Myjia youngster Glenn Low, the Myjia camp received another damning piece of news - wing sensation Delvin Ng could be out for up to six months.

The exciting winger was sent crashing to the ground in a league match against Ron Blue FC and while awaiting results of his scan, Myjia physio has warned that Delvin might have damaged his anterior cruciate ligament and could be out for six months. The injury is similar to the one which famed Brazilian striker Ronaldo suffered which threathen his career.

On the other side, Myjia player-manager Vincent Low had previously suffered a similiar injury and has recovered fully to lead Myjia on to the field of battle again. Even better still, the diagnosis report could merely be bruising at the knee which will only keep Delvin out for about two to four weeks. The Myjia camp is hoping and praying that Delvin will rejoin the squad in two weeks time.

Myjia has moved fast in the transfer market after a dramatic slump in the results which have seen Myjia concede ten goals in the last two games including a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Marine Sunday.

An undisclosed player is rumoured to be in line to make his debut for Myjia in the next game as Myjia seek to address the decline.

MYJIA SENT CRASHING DOWN TO EARTH

Bowen- Myjia FFC was sent crashing down to earth after a 5-2 defeat to Ron Blue FC at Bowen Secondary School after 4 victories on trot.

A fit looking Ron Blue FC looked to be superior on paper against a young Myjia team before the start of the match but showed signs of jittery the moment the whistle blew. Myjia began to settle in to the pace of the game and Experience midfielder Waimeng continued his wonderful goal scoring run with a superb finish after a wonderful set up by Chief striker Chia Junhao on the quarter hour mark.

However Ron Blue FC began to settled in to the tempo of the game. Attack after attack were launched looking for the equaliser. With their continuous attack, Ron Blue FC finally got their reward after a communication break down between veteran sweeper Vincent and Shot stopper Raymond resulting in an own goal.

After conceeding the equaliser, Myjia began to lose its composure and could not cope with the tempo of the game. On the half an hour mark, Ron Blue FC's striker broke the offside track and fire a unstoppable shot past Raymond.

On the closing stages of the first half, another defensive mistake allow Ron Blue FC to entend their lead.

3-1 was the scoreline brought back to the Myjia dressing room during half time. Player/Manager Vincent Low gave his half time preparation talk and made several changes to the team being sent out for the second half.

Myjia began the second half with a lion share of possession. Myjia began to pass the ball around comfortably and moving the ball so well in the Ron Blue's half. Myjia were in search for a goal to put Myjia back into the match. However with many players committing to the attack, Ron Blue hit Myjia on the break making the scoreline 4-1.

With Myjia trailing 4-1, Myjia showed no signs of giving up. They continued to pour man forward hoping to keep the unbeaten record intact. Their persistance was finally rewarded when Vincent made amend for his own goal in the first half with a brilliant lob over the keeper.

However Ron Blue FC add another goal in the closing stages of the second half to put the match beyond the reach of Myjia.

5-2 was the final score. Myjia FFC unbeaten start of season came to an end despite putting up such heroic display.

VINCENT: WE NEED TO GET OUR PASSING GAME BACK

-Reporter: On last saturday match, were you satisfied with the way Myjia improved their performance in the second half and turned the table to notch a second victory in a row against Nestle Singapore?

Vincent: Indeed i was satisfied with the way we improved our game in the second half and notched a victory to maintain our unbeaten record. However the victory was not our best efforts. We can put up a better display. We will also need to get our passing game back in order for us to continue our unbeaten streak. Team work is a crucial factor should we want to maintain our unbeaten streak.

- How sweet was it to score your first goal in almost 18 months against a rival?

It is been awhile since I have landed the ball into the back of the net and to score against one of Myjia rival, it was definitely a sweet feeling.

-Being four games into the season, Myjia have notch up 23 goals and there are 10 different Myjia players who contributed to the goal tally. As compared to last season, at this point of the season Myjia have only notch up 16 goals and there are only 6 different players to contribute to the goal tally. Is this a sign that Myjia is maturing with more players shouldering the burden of goal scoring?

Indeed we are maturing as a team. Having played together for 3 seasons, players have build up a strong understanding.a. Besides, with the guidance of the veterans and experience players, youngsters in the team are also maturing. Thus, this contributed to more players contributing to the goal tally

-Fans turning up for the match is beginning to be on a decline, is it a worrying sign? How will it affect the team morale?

Indeed it is a worrying sign that there is a decline in fans turning up for the match. However the players also understands that the fans have their own personal commitment which might not allow them to turn up for the game. So they will continue playing to their best even though there is a decrease in fans turning up for the match.

-On the upcoming match, will Eric Low and Ng YongChun feature in it after missing two match in a row? Are we going to expect a tightly contested match or an easy win for Myjia again?

I will expect the two players to feature in the next match after seeing their performance during training, they are working their way back to fitness. I suppose the upcoming match would be more of a tightly contested match instead of a one-sided affair. Thus, we need to be prepared in all aspects and bring back our passing game should we want to maintain our unbeaten record.

MYJIA DOWN TWO MILOs

Bowen - A much-improved second half performance by Myjia settled a messy 6-4 affair with Nestle Singapore.

Myjia were able to call up forward Ronnie Low for the first time this season while missing regulars Kenneth Koh, Ng Yongchun and Eric Low.

Myjia were in a buoyant mood right from the kickoff and perhaps a tiny dose of complacency crept into their game as players threw away their normal passing game and embarked on solo runs.

Not surprisingly, Myjia hardly managed a decent chance early in the first half and the game was messy and put simply, kampung football.

Despite Myjia's poorest performance to date, a poorer Nestle side meant Myjia were somehow able to put themselves one goal up in the 14th minute courtesy of a poachers' goal from Jackson Seetoh.

Leong Wai Meng collected a ball on the edge of the penalty box and after assessing his options, decided on a quick one-two with Chia Junhao. The return pass was laid to perfection and with Waimeng clean through, the midfielder squared the ball to the near post for the onrushing Jackson to nudge ahead of the defender to toepoke home.

The goal was Jackson's third in three games as he start to look the part as the fox-in-the-box.

1-0 up, Myjia again played into their own shell of complacency as Waimeng despite his assist, played a poor game with his sidekick Kenneth missing through personal commitments.

The midfielder hardly controlled the game and indulged in several aimless runs which resulted in possession lost. True to the common wisdom of the game, when the midfield battle is lost, teams will leak goals and lose. And so it was, a backpass was collected by Wilson Tan from Waimeng and when the former passed the ball back to his uncle and last man Vincent Low, the veteran defender took one touch too many and allowed Nestle to pull a goal back with a piece of clinical finishing from the stocky forward.

One apiece and Nestle celebrated a well-deserved equaliser.

The game began to look like a horrible day at play for Myjia as they failed to impose their famed passing game. The midfield was a sea scrappy tackles and misplaced passes and the situation did not look to be improving until Junhao took charge.

Collecting a ball from fellow forward Chan Mingchun, Junhao sidestepped a defender and from the edge of the six yard box, placed a superb ball to the far post to put Myjia 2-1 up.

Myjia were simply unconvincing and player-manager Vincent Low was visibly worried during halftime. Vincent reshuffled and urged for a simple passing game from his troops. A key tactical switch saw Junhao pushed back to defence while Vincent operated as a striker.

The tactical switch worked a treat as Junhao dealt comfortably with the long balls launched by an impressive Nestle defender. Vincent himself was imposing himself on the defenders, winning flick ons for Ronnie and Mingchun.

Substitute Quan, on loan from Police Academy was an important introduction as he stabilised the midfield with his tackles and reading of the game.

That gave the platform for makeshift midfielder Delvin Ng to partner Waimeng in centre midfield as Myjia began to play much better.

Myjia were soon 3-1 up through Vincent with his first goal in almost 18 months. Released by his son, right winger Ebenzer Low, Vincent struck with astounding accuracy as he beat the keeper with his precision at the near post.

The game were to get better for Myjia when Waimeng struck from a freekick after tossing a coin with Ebenzer for the privilege. 4-1 up and Myjia were seemingly on their way to their biggest victory in their history.

The aforementioned impressive Nestle defender, Daniel had other ideas. Pushing himself up during a counter attack, Daniel with his powerful legs hit a beauty from just outside the box that had Raymond Tan truly beaten.

As a matter of fact, no keeper in the world could have kept the ball out as it went rocketing to the top right corner. A brilliant goal from Nestle.

The game was then settling into a pattern where Myjia were pretty much comfortable to be passing in their mini-triangles especially on the left side with Jackson in irresistible form.

The flying winger played a blinder and was a constant thorn in the Nestle defence. Time and again, Jackson flew past the rightback and Myjia players were guilty of several misses from Jackson's cutback.

Ebenzer who also had a great game finally reciprocated Jackson's effort in the 70th minute. The teenage winger with his fast improving technique swept a fantastic shot into the bottom corner after Delvin had flicked the ball into his path from Jackson's layoff.

Already with two goals this season, Ebenzer is well on course to his a personal best this season in his goals tally.

5-2 and Myjia were not finished. Junhao launched a counter attack from the back, played a wall pass with Waimeng who chipped it over the static Nestle defence for Junhao to finish with much aplomb.

6-2 and suddenly the script changed. Nestle got themselves back in the game with two stunning strikes from nowhere.

The first straight from kickoff, Daniel launched another outstanding rocket of his, this time with the goal in sight. Raymond, suffering from a rare lapse of concentration in this game was backpeddling together with the ball and into the net.

Daniel completed his hat trick with another beauty. Yet again, Raymond was beaten from long range and yet again, the ball sailed with pace over his head.

6-4 the final score and Myjia continue their unbeaten start to the season but you would suspect the form is dipping if the team don't get the passing game back - fast.

MYJIA READY TO MAKE MILO AGAIN

Pasir Ris- Two weeks after defeating Nestle Singapore, On form Myjia FFC will be looking to add on to their good run by defeating Nestle Singapore in the return match. Should Myjia defeat Nestle Singapore, it will be a victory against a similar side for second match in a row.

However Player/Manager Vincent told the club's official website:" Despite winning in the last match against Nestle Singapore, we have to approach this match cautiously and not approaching it being over confident as Nestle Singapore might make several changes to the starting line up which lost 7-4 in the last fixture."

"Besides, I will also be hoping to see more teamwork in the upcoming fixture instead of individual effort in the match. Working as a unit, keeping it tight in all areas will be a key for success."

Toa Payoh- Myjia camp's morale is at an all time-high after earning a 7-4 victory against Nestle Singapore at First Toa Payoh Secondary School.Despite missing several players through commitment and loan spell.

Myjia started off the match as favourite with many facts and statistic in favour of Myjia FFC.Myjia hardly put a wrong foot in right from the start of the match and dominated much of the possesion. Myjia had chance aplently right from the start of the match but however failed to convert the chance.

The break through came on the 17th minute when a sweetly taken corner taken by teenage winger Ebenzer fell to the foot of Waimeng who made no mistake and convert the chance for the first goal of the game.Myjia continued to push on for the second goal but to no avail.

The turning point came when Jackson was introduced into the match. The match soon became a one-sided affair. On the 25th minute, Ebenzer who got into space fired a shot which seems goal bound was saved by the keeper which resulted in a corner.

This time a sweetly taken corner by tenacious midfielder Kenneth Koh fell to the feet of Waimeng who intended to take a shot first time only to be block by a oncoming defender. However the shot was deflected into the feet of Jackson who made no mistake with a tap in.

2-0 was the scoreline and Myjia confidence grew within the team as Myjia became more ambitious and taking shots from long range. A good vision pass from Kenneth sets Jackson through who made no mistake and fired a shot which left the keeper with no chance. Two goals from Jackson and 3-0 read the scoreline.

However Myjia was not done with the onslaught of Nestle Singapore. Speedy Winger Delvin received a ball from Waimeng down the byline made a sudden burst of pace which left the defenders trailing him took his chance with no mistake. 4-0 was the scoreline and it was a very one sided affair.

Myjia continued to press on for a fifth goal and got their reward. Waimeng who was through on goal was tripped by a Nestle defender in the penalty area and the referee awarded a penalty. Aaron step up calmly and took the spot kick. He made no mistake and put the ball past the keeper for his first goal for Myjia.

5-0 was the scoreline during half time. The match seems all over for Nestle Singapore with a mountain to climb. Vincent did his usual half time prep talk and did some reshuffle in formation.

Myjia started the second half shakily and allowed Nestle to pull one goal back. However Myjia continued Nestle Singapore to dominate in possesion. It was not long before Nestle Singapore finds the net again with an effective long and direct game.

5-2 was the scoreline. Myjia quickly settle in to the pace of the game and became more composed. Player/Manager Vincent then came into action with a brilliant pass that picks out Waimeng in space. Waimeng controlled the ball beautifully before firing an unstoppable ball past the keeper. 6-2 was the scoreline and Waimeng was the joint topscorer after netting two in the match.

However the stunning goal failed to put Nestle Singapore morale down. Instead it spurred them on. Direct play caught Myjia again as the striker outmuscled the defender to put the ball past custodian Raymond for the third time in the game.

Nestle Singapore confidence grew and the pressed on hoping to get something out of the game. This time a defensive error allowed Nestle's striker time and space who made no mistake in putting the ball past Raymond. 6-4 was the scoreline as Nestle seems destined to get something out of the game with their confidence on a high.

Nestle Singapore continued to press on but to no avail.

However Myjia whose second half was not of the best manage to find the cutting edge to put the final nail into the coffin. Experience midfielder Waimeng pick Vincent out in space and the striker fired in a shot only for the keeper to punch the ball out.

However Vincent reacted quickly to meet the rebound. Instead of taking a shot, he squared the ball to teenage winger Ebenzer who made no mistake in tapping the ball into the empty net.

The goal was also the last action of the game. 7-4 was the scoreline as Myjia march on with another victory and First Toa Payoh Secondary School remained a fortress for Myjia FFC.

Secondly, First Toa Payoh Secondary School had always been a fortress for Myjia FFC. Myjia had notched 6 wins, 2 draws and 1 lost in the 9 games played at First Toa Payoh Secondary School.

Thirdly, for the first six matches for the past two seasons, Myjia FFC had been a free scoring team which scored three goals or more in a match. An astonishing goal record.

Lastly, Myjia FFC had never lost a match on synthetic pitch.

KENNETH IMPRESSES IN A CLASH OF RIVALRIES

Yishun-Despite missing several players, Myjia capped a superb victory over Westro Rebels in a heated affair. Myjia tenacious midfielder Kenneth Koh capped a superb display and scored a double against Rebels.

With Myjia welcome back Peter Koh for the match, however with the return of Peter, Myjia were still missing several key players which force player/manager Vincent made a tactical reshuffle which proved pivotal to the victory.

Myjia begin the match with an unfamiliar strike force after chief striker Junhao was ruled out for this match. Most action of the match came from the middle of the park with no goal mouth threatening efforts.

The first chance of the match fell to experience midfielder Waimeng who fired a shot just over the cross bar. Minutes later a freekick was won at the edge of the area by Vincent. The freekick was sweetly struck by Waimeng but only to fall straight in to the hands of the keeper. Another chance fell to Waimeng who was through on goal made a wrong decision by squaring across goal with no one to meet it instead of taking a shot.

The break through of the game came only 25 minutes when kenneth scored one of his trademark goal which deceived Rebels keeper after the ball which seems like a cross was directed into the goal.

Wing wizard Delvin who was operating in an unfamiliar role of stopper was booked for obstruction of Rebels' striker who dived in order to win the freekick. Delvin constant appeal fell onto deaf ears of the referee. Minutes later, Goalkeeper Raymond was faulted high knee which resulted in an indirect freekick.

Tempers and rage began to increase in the game following many late and rough tackles from both sides, one which resulted in a tackle at the edge of the area on Waimeng.

The match broke into a chaotic confrontation following an Rebels player who vent his frustration on Kenneth by giving a punch on the face after being frustrated by make-shift stopper Delvin who bodysealed and bodychecked him to put the ball out of play.

However player/manager Vincent ordered both sets of players to keep their cool and stay apart in order to maintain order in the pitch. After the heated exchange, the referee had no choice but to blow the whistle for half time.

During the half-time pep talk, Myjia had another tactical reshuffle. The reshuffle paid dividend after Myjia took control most of the second half.

After a heated end to the first half, both team tried to kept their cool in the second. A rare defensive error from veteran lastman Vincent lead to an equaliser from Rebels. 1-1 was the score line minutes after the restart.

However it was not long before Myjia regained the lead with a header from Eric after an in swing cross by Waimeng from a corner.

Rebels tried to get their equaliser however defence which was led by a reliable veteran Vincent did not allow Rebels to get anywhere near the goal.

On the hour mark, wing wizard Delvin who was operating back in a familiar role after the reshuffle during the break broke free of the defence. After a sudden burst of pace, he shrugged off the attention of the defenders and took a shot on goal only to be denied by the post. However, a great follow up by Kenneth fired the ball helplessly past the keeper. What a marvelous way to mark a scintillating performance.

Rebels had a few opportunity to get back into the game but only to be denied by Raymond. Myjia had an opportunity to extend their lead when Eric was played through by a long ball from the defence only to be denied by the Rebels goalkeeper.

The match was rapidly turning into the Kenneth show though. After scoring two goals, the midfielder came up with an assist for Wilson Tan which made the score 4-1. It was all over for Rebels.

Myjia then made changes to the side with Kenneth and Peter coming off for two on-loan signing, Bing and Eric who performed well on their Myjia debuts.

Myjia then continued to attack in search for a fifth goal when a long range effort by Vincent was stop by a fully stretch Rebels keeper. What a magnificent goal it might have been had the shot gone in.

The final action of the match fell to Myjia after Waimeng broke down the left wing. He then squared the ball to Aaron who had a chance on goal only to squandered it. The rebound then fall to Ebenzer who direct the ball towards the goal only to be denied by a defender.

4-1 was the final score. A match which Myjia proved their credential after losing several key players. A great performance by Myjia which fans can be proud about especially after a scintillating performance by Kenneth Koh.

MORE TROUBLES FOR MYJIA

Pasir Ris- Ahead of this saturday clash against Westro Rebels, Myjia FFC will be missing several key players through personal commitment and injuries.

However to rub salt in to the wound, youngster Low Ebenzer was spotted at Impulse EFC's training session last weekend. There are many reports which suggest that Ebenzer might be transfer to Impulse EFC.

However youngster Low Ebenzer have quickly step out and dish away transfer talks as he told Myjia official website" I attended the training session was to give myself an opportunity to build up my match fitness after a poor performance in the opening match of the season."

Boon Lay - Up to four Myjia regulars will be missing from action for this Saturday's fixture against Westro Rebels.

The unavailable players, Chia Junhao, Ng Yong Chun and Sunny Rai will significantly weaken a young Myjia team.

To add to the problems, midfielder Kenneth Koh will most likely miss the second half owing to personal commitments while Jackson Seetoh could miss the first half owing to personal commitments as well.

SEASON THREE STARTS WITH A BANG!

Bendemeer- Myjia FFC began Season Three in brilliant fashion, racing to a 4-0 lead at halftime against Network United before charitably giving four goals to eventually triumph 6-4.

Network had looked complacent against an all-chinese Myjia team and by the time the referee blew for halftime, it appeared that Network had connection problems within the team, such was the dominance of Myjia.

The shutting down of Network began as early as the tenth minute when midfielder Leong Wai Meng fired in an inswinger to score directly from a cornerkick. Whether Wai Meng had intended to score, well, your guess is as good as mine.

Myjia continued to threaten with the Network players chasing shadows and looking disoriented against a group of closely knitted Myjia players high on team spirit.

Against a relentless wave of Myjia attacks, the inevitable happened as Myjia frontman Chia Junhao latched onto Kenneth Koh's pass. Marked by a defender, Junhao skillfully flicked the ball around the defender a-la-Bergkamp, spun round the defender before pushing the ball past the below par keeper. 2-0 to Myjia in a pretty one-sided affair and there was more to come.

Junhao turned creator this time when he chipped a ball into the box for veteran striker Eric Low to chest the ball down before laying for Kenneth who finished with a superb left-legged shot.

If Network thought that was the end of their misery, they were to be humbled further with another goal by Kenneth at the half hour mark.

Receiving a cross field ball from Wai Meng, Kenneth ran half the length of the pitch on the right flank and then unleash a vicious cross-shot which deceived everyone including himself to land in the net via the post. Absolute stunner and if there was one person who could produce such moments, it had to be Kenneth who had scored with a similar effort during Myjia's first season.

4-0 at halftime, Myjia were undeniably bouyant and ecstatic by a superb team performance in the first half.

Player-manager Vincent Low advised the team against complacency and the aggressive tactics to be deployed by Network during the halftime talk and he was proven spot-on with his advice.

Network visibly increased their tempo and were imposing themselves more in the tackle. In all fairness, Network were much harder but never overly aggressive.

It took Network all of five minutes in the second half to start their mini revival.

Reserve goalkeeper Aaron Tan who had a quiet first half was half a second late in coming off his line and despite Vincent Low's best attempt to ward off the attacker, he could not prevent the striker from toepoking the ball into the Myjia net.

A succession of quickfire goals saw Network pull the score to 4-3 and it was only the heroics of Aaron that prevented Myjia from losing their grip on the match.

Despite Network's best efforts, it was Myjia who eventually had the last laugh.

A deep throw in by Wilson Tan found Wai Meng in the Network box and after evading past a defender, Wai Meng thumped a powerful shot into the top corner to provide Myjia with a two-goal cushion at 5-3.

Network managed another goal but were finally nailed down in the closing minutes when Wai Meng's freekick found the head of Junhao who put the game out of Network's reach for a pulsating 6-4 victory on the opening day of Season Three for Myjia.

Who would have forgotten a late winner scored by Junhao against GE Aviation FC and a superb comeback from 3-0 down at half-time to snatch a draw against Indian Springers.Besides, the team youngsters are getting more involved in the action which a good sign too. MYJIA THRASHED!

Serangoon - Myjia ended the season with a heavy defeat at Serangoon but with cause for optimism.

Despite being thrashed 7-1 by a vastly superior opponent, Myjia can look to the quality of its own passing game as well as the chances carved out for the overall improvement of the team compared to the previous season.

As early as the third minute, Myjia showed that they feared no one and when Junhao managed to break free of his marker, everyone had expected the prolific frontman to bury his chance only for Junhao to miss uncharacteristically.

Another chance was carved out minutes later when Junhao laid a cushioned touch for Waimeng only for the midfielder to lose his footing.

More memorably throughout the game, Kenneth Koh and Ng Yongchun both had their chances to score, especially the latter who had at least four good chances only for ill luck to prolong his barren spell in front of goal.

One such chance for Yongchun rebounded off the upright and Junhao was only half a yard away to put the ball into the net before the defender cleared the ball.

Kenneth himself skied a volley over from six yards out though in fairness, it was more of a half-chance than anything.

Player-manager Vincent Low, playing in a forward position, showed good touches and flick-ons as a target man was just as unlucky in front of goal as his team mates.

The first chance coming off a cross from Waimeng saw Vincent rise the highest only to nod the ball agonisingly wide of goal. Vincent's second chance on goal forced the keeper into a terrific diving save who had the ball tipped round the post. Vincent's final chance which came minutes into second half injury time resulted in another display of brilliant goalkeeping.

The corner from Junhao was swung in with venom and Vincent again showed a good spring to meet the ball powerfully. The keeper immediately sprung his heels to hold on to the header with the safest of catch.

The Serangoon Blues keeper, the man of the match for his heroics in goal very nearly conceded a goal after his poor clearance almost resulted in Wilson Tan embarassing him from outside the penalty box with a precise shot. Befitting of his form throughout the match, the keeper produced an amazing recovery to comfortably save the ball.

In the end, it took a penalty from Junhao to give Myjia a much deserved goal after Waimeng had been fouled in the box.

Nonetheless, despite the result, the signs are promising for Myjia in Season Three as long as the progress continues.

"Ebenzer Low has improved so much this season! I love that wonder goal against Bowen Chinese!" exclaimed one excited caller who claims to have posters of Ebenzer pasted around the room.

Another unhappy fan of Ebenzer queried why his idol wasn't mentioned when player-manager Vincent Low praised the younger players. "Has he forgotten the strides Ebenzer made? The improved confidence and wingplay? and the two goals he notched? What is the manager doing?!"

Other fans were generally better natured. "The lad Wilkin has been pretty consistent throughout the season, hasn't he? The team has improved and Wilkin has proven to be tough nut to crack for opposing left wingers. Well done to the Myjia boy!"

Midfielder Wilson Tan wasn't short of praises either.

"I'm surprised Wilson hasn't won more awards given his improvement. Who can forget his dazzling run from the halfway line to score recently? The boy's got a decent touch and what's more he has improved by leaps and bounds tactically. He just needs to assert himself more in the game and bulk on a bit more. He's my man for this season," opined an anonymous senior fan.

Some fans were concerned about the absence of giant defender Sunny Rai.

"How is Sunny? Will he be available for the last game of the season? I can't wait to see him towering those headers in again!"

" Delvin just seems to be getting faster and faster..Oops is that Delvin?" the fan joked as a mosquito swatted past during the interview. "His speed is his main asset and when he fully utilize it at the appropriate moment, he is one hell of a danger."

Boon Lay - Myjia player-manager Vincent Low has praised his young charges ahead of Myjia's final game of the season on Saturday.

Speaking ahead of the first night game this season, Vincent was visibly pleased with the progress his team has made over the past season.

"Compared to Season One, we faced much tougher opponents this season but encouragingly, we have more often than not managed to put up a good fight and secured several well-deserved draws."

"The youngsters especially deserves much praise. The likes of Delvin, Wilson, Wilkin are developing and maturing nicely. Delvin has done really well to improve his attitude and aggression towards the game which is a credit to the boy. The twins are coming along fine and when you compare their performance when they first broke into the team, you can tell they are different players now."

When probed further for his views on the transfers this season and for next season, Vincent was refreshingly open.

"Our signings this season have generally done well. Yongchun has a fantastic attitude which any manager would love to have in their players. Aaron took a while to get used to our game but he is a settled member of the squad now. All in all, our signings have mingled around really well with the entire squad which is a great thing cos Myjia is more than just a football club."

"As for the new season, I'm looking to promote Roy and Aaron to the first team. These lads deserved it. I'm also looking to ease Ryan into the first team whenever possible. The boy is bulking up nicely."

Myjia Online also understands that midfielder Jerry is expected to be released on a free transfer after a season spent with the reserves while young prodigy Ryle Low is tipped for future stardom with Myjia according to insider sources.

Bowen - With two games left to play in the season, Myjia FFC produced football of the highest quality albeit against a weak Bowen Chinese side to triumph 5-0 on the excellent artificial pitch.

Despite missing experienced campaigners such as Raymond Tan and Sunny Rai, Myjia youngsters, Ebenzer Low in particular, showed that the future is blazingly bright with a matured performance beyond their years.

With the absence of Raymond, reserve keeper Aaron Tan came to the fore and caught the eye with an excellent tip round the post when he was tested by a tricky free kick in the 15th minute. Aaron, ably defended by captain Vincent Low and Roy Tan and flanked by Ng Yongchun and Wilkin Tan hardly had a testing save to make thereafter throughout the game - such was the dominance of Myjia.

Within ten minutes of the kickoff, Myjia had launched numerous attacks only to be letdown by the players' own over-elaborateness. If there was a fault to be pointed out in the early stages of the game, it would be that Myjia appeared to be looking to score the perfect goal.

The first real chance of the game for Myjia came via the left flank when Wai Meng skipped past the rightback and in a 3 on 1 situation with Junhao and Eric in support, the latter missed Wai Meng's low center across the goal.

The glaring miss was to be only a sign of things to come.

Skilful midfielder Kenneth Koh played a series of one-twos with Junhao which put him clean through and when his initial shot was parried by the keeper, Kenneth made no mistake with the second attempt with a thunderous left foot shot.

1-0 to Myjia. The Bowen Chinese defence was continously stretched to the max by the flank play of Wilson and Ebenzer and also the speed of Delvin. Ebenzer in particularly had an outstanding match as he proved a menace for the leftback with his intelligence.

Under such trying circumstances, it was no surprise when the Bowen defence crumbled under Delvin Ng's demonic speed.

Beating the midfielder to a through pass down the left flank, Delvin outpaced and dribbled past another two defender before his quickness of the feet got him to the ball before the onrushing keeper to put Myjia two goals up.

Junhao soon added another assist when Wai Meng added a third goal for Myjia with a sweet turn-and-shoot attempt off the former's pass which left the keeper grasping thin air.

3-0 to Myjia at halftime and if the team thought the first half was excellent, the second half proved an even more exhilarating display.

Man of the Match Ebenzer was beginning to exert his influence on the match with several dangerous runs down the right channel and his hard work eventually paid off when he cracked in a stupendous shot from 25 yards out for his first goal of the season.

The effort was reminiscence of a goal he scored last season. The ball half cleared from a corner dropped to Ebenzer and with a quick glance at the goal, the youngster let fly a rocket which dipped past the keeper into the top corner. Truly a contender for the Goal of the Season.

Not contended with just a goal, Ebenzer doubled his season tally after a brilliant control and back flick from Eric Low found Jackson who in turn released Ebenzer who finished with much aplomb.
The goal was brilliantly celebrated with a little jiggle which cousin Kenneth Koh spontaneously joined in. What a Kodak moment!

Myjia continued to attack and on one fast break down the left flank, Jackson raced to the byline looking for support which eventually arrived in the form of Vincent and Ebenzer.

Vincent controlled the ball and rolled an inviting ball to his son who unfortunately blasted the ball powerful but only just above the crossbar. Had the ball go in, it could have match Ebenzer's earlier goal for the Goal of the Season.

Jackson Seetoh continued to have chances aplenty but only the flailing limbs of the keeper prevented the striker from getting an early birthday present.

In the final minutes of the game, Jackson had one last attempt to put his name on the scoresheet but alas, the trailing legs of the keeper kept the ball out and when the ball fell to Wilkin Tan, the defender missed a glorious chance to score his first goal of the season when his shot was blocked by a desperate defender.

In the end, Myjia deservedly thrashed a weaker opponent 5-0 but what was most pleasing was the manner in which the team stroked and passed the ball about in search of an opening. Even more pleasing was to see a youngster progress through the youth ranks at Myjia and score his first career double. Well done everyone!

Jackson to aim for Birthday goal

Tuas - Jackson Seetoh will look for an early birthday present when Myjia play at Bowen Secondary on Saturday.

The winger will celebrate his 27th birthday on the 15th and will look to score his seventh goal this season before the season ends.

Myjia team mates are rumoured to be in full force to assist in giving an early birthday present. The only setback however is that Jackson will be only available for the second half till the end of the season owing to personal commitments.

Meanwhile, Myjia faces a mini crisis tomorrow when first-choice keeper Raymond Tan will miss the game and missing-in-action defender Sunny Rai could still miss his third game in a row with work commitments.

Youngster Wilson Tan is doubtful with a virus but could be pushed into action regardless.

TRAINING SESSION AT FICO SPORTS CLUB

Pasir Ris- Despite having the match being cancelled last weekend due to bad weather, Myjia FFC held their own training session at the Fico sports club. During the training session, there were many fans who turn up to cheer their players on.

The training session was a session which enphasise more of ball control and passing of the players. I will also hope Myjia will start the year off on a winning note after consistency have not been in the team. EUGENE LOW POISED FOR COMEBACK

Myjia - Veteran forward Eugene Low could be poised for a comeback into the first team squad before the season ends. Eugene has been out for the entire season with a troublesome shoulder injury and an unnamed source has tipped Eugene to make his comeback before the season ends for Chinese New Year.

In other news, player-manager Vincent Low will be back from a scouting trip from South Korea together with starlet Ebenzer Low - just in time for the fixture scheduled on 29th December.

ENCOURAGING DISPLAY DESPITE DEFEAT

Kranji-Myjia FFC showed their class and never say die attitude in a match which Myjia suffer a 5-4 defeat against Kranji Warrior.

Myjia reliable shot stopper Raymond Tan, Pacy fullback Ng YongChun, Giant stopper Sunny Rai and Lanky striker Ronnie Low were missing from the squad which faced Kranji Warriors. Their presence were sorely missed by Myjia through out the game.

Due to the incessant rain island-wide in Singapore for the past week, the pitch was in a condition which was almost unplayable. However the official in charge of the game indicated that the game could be carry on. Delight was the word to describe the feeling of players in both camp when the green light for the match was given to play this much anticipated match.

Before the match,Player-manager Vincent had to rack his brain on who he should sent out for the starting eleven despite having pacy winger Delvin Ng return from Happy Valley Fc. Vincent begin with his usual pep-talk before naming the starting line up with chief striker Junhao starting in goal and Aaron starting upfront as a striker with Roy having to fill the boots of Sunny as stopper.

Myjia start of the game with lack of composure due to the muddy condition and allowed Kranji Warrior to dominate opening stages of the game. The Warrior kept attacking Myjia but came to no avail as Myjia defence which was marshalled by experience lastman Vincent played the offside trap well.

With the constant attack from the Warrior, Vincent made changes again. Aaron which started as a striker had to which with Roy which possesses pace and aerial ability that will pose a threat to the Warriors defence. The switch turn out to be a wise move by the player-manager as Myjia began to regain more composure in the game and string a few passes together.

Myjia then manage to break down the attack of the Warrior through midfield general Waimeng who was appointed a more defensive role for the game. Myjia then launch a few attack down the left flank thru the pace and wonderful touches of fullback Delvin and winger Wilson which cause many problems for the Warrior defence.

On the 19th minute, it was Myjia who drew first blood through tenacious midfielder Kenneth Koh who start the match with a more attacking role and got his eight goal of the season. Kenneth made an nicely timed run to latch on a through pass. He then outpace the Warrior defenders leaving him with only a tight angle for a shot. Kenneth with his composure, he made no mistake and lauch a powerful shot to the far corner leaving the keeper no chance at all.

1-0 to Myjia who began to play with more composure. Winger Jackson than came on for striker Eric to inject more pace into the game. Jackson, Delvin and Wilson link up well on the left flank and cause many problem. The Warrior defenders had very little time on the ball as Myjia players kept closing them down quickly.

Myjia then won a freekick down the right flank after Jackson was tackled by the fullback. A beautifully taken freekick put Kenneth through on goal. With the confidence from the first goal he was expected to take a shot on goal. However, he squared the ball to winger Jackson to only be call back for offside

Myjia than continue to build on their impressive play and got to increase the lead. With many quick one touch soccer down the left flank, talented winger Wilson Tan was given the job to attack after being played through. He took the ball into his stride and controlled it well. A sudden burst of pace caught his marker. He then cut the ball slightly to the centre before unleashing a spectacular chip past the approaching Warrior keeper for his first goal of the season. Great work down the flank by the talented winger.

After taking the lead, Myjia were under constant pressure by the Warrior. The Warrior manage to break the offside trap layed by the Myjia defence many times but however they were denied by the heroics of makeshift keeper Chia Junhao.

The match took a cruel twist of fate and Warriors netted two goals through errors from the defence and were back in the running.

Myjia then tried to fight back and continue to create chances down the flank. However the Warriors who are on cloud nine after the equaliser manage to break down the attack.

First half ended with two goals a piece. During the break, Vincent make another shuffle to the formation hoping that Myjia would be able to get the upper hand again. Boosted by the half time team talk, Myjia players headed for the field with confidence for the second period.

Warriors began the second period like how the started with the first by dominating possession and kept attacking Myjia defence. On the 52th minute, the break through for the Warrior came when a free kick which was taken outside the penalty area slip through keeper Junhao hands only leaving the striker to strike it in to the empty net.

To be fair to the keeper, he had a good game despite the error as he had to play in a position he was unfamiliar with and had no proper goalkeeping gear.

3-2 down Myjia made another switch by putting Aaron in goal and chief striker Junhao back in to the attack hoping to push for an equaliser. Despite being more offensive, Warrior continued to be the dominant force in the game with more possession and numerous attack. Playing against a team which close down very quickly, Myjia midfielders had difficulty keeping possession and launch attack of their own.

On the hour mark, Warrior played a midfielder through the Myjia defence. He was through on goal only to fall theatrically after a slight nudge from midfield Leong Waimeng and to Myjia dismay, the referee blew the whistle and pointed to the spot for a penalty. Waimeng was clearly shock by the decision as the Warrior midfielder had gone down with a slightest of touch. Bad decision from the referee but play had to continue. Warrior striker took the penalty in style by sending Aaron the wrong way. 4-2 was the scoreline on the scoreboard.

Despite being 4-2 down, Myjia then launch their own attack with slick passing between players. After many good passes, a neat through pass by Vincent put Junhao through only for the referee to blow the whistle for offside.

A quick freekick set Warrior winger free from a marker who have enough time and space to swing in a cross. With the approaching Aaron who had the intention of punching the ball into safety slip allowing Warrior striker to head it into an empty net. Myjia defence was caught napping.

Despite being 5-2 down, Myjia players were all but disheartened and dejected. Instead they were fired up and began to settle into the rhythm of the game passing the ball around. Kenneth Koh had a chance on goal after dribbling down the flank. However outside the area, he make one pass too many and gave Warrior defender a chance to clear the ball.

On the 75th minute, Myjia attack finally paid dividend with a goal after a long ball from the defence put chief striker Junhao through on goal. After a beautifully control of the ball, all he was left to do was to put the ball back of the net. Junhao make no mistake by flicking the ball past the approaching keeper to score a goal which might put Myjia back into the contention.

With Warrior lead being cut down to two, Myjia continue to play with the never-say-die attitude and attack. On the 80th minute, Myjia pulled another goal back. Waimeng who was played though on goal after switching a few neat passes make no mistake to put the ball past the keeper. 5-4 was the scoreline as Myjia players were now on cloud nine thinking that they could make an amazing comeback.

However they failed to score the important equaliser after constant attack which was breakdown by the stubborn Warrior defence. With seconds left on the clock, Junhao was once again played through on goal by Waimeng however only be stop by a two footed challenge by the keeper. Myjia appealed for a penalty only be wave away. The penalty appeal was also the last piece of action of the game. Dream of making an amazing comeback was ended.

Myjia FFC suffer another defeat yet again. However despite suffering another defeat, it was a performance which was worthy of a praise. Myjia will be hopping to go into the new year period with a victory after recent inconsistency.

RAIN THREATENS MYJIA FIXTURE

Singapore - Incessant rain in the island-state of Singapore the past week has cast Myjia fixture on Saturday into doubt.

No doubt, after almost two weeks of anticipation for the match, every Myjia player would be keen to take to the field no matter the conditions.

The fixture, scheduled at 5pm at Kranji field, will only go ahead with permission from the groundsman on matchday itself. Fingers crossed, folks!

MYJIA FALLS AT RIVERSIDE

Woodlands - Myjia's stuttering form continued when they lost 2-1 to an experienced East Malay side on Saturday.

Myjia's flying winger Delvin Ng was missing from the lineup owing to a loan deal with Hong Kong's Happy Valley FC. And so it was, his searing pace was much missed as Myjia poured forward in the late stages of the game trying to salvage a point from the fast tiring legs of the opponents - but to no avail.

Last season's corresponding fixture saw East Malay score a late winner over Myjia for a 4-3 win and they showed their intent right from the first whistle with a series of crisp passing and sharp movement that left Myjia players chasing shadows.

It was only due to a lack of understanding and sharpness from the East Malay forwards coupled with an excellent reading and an effective offside trap ably marshalled by veteran skipper Vincent Low that kept the score at 0-0 until the 37th minute.

A rare moment of misjudgement by Vincent created space for the opposition forward to thread a pass through but was intentionally handled outside the box by the skipper as he tried to rescue the situation. Raymond, back in goal for Myjia, laid up a three man wall only for the forward to strike a sweet left footed drive past him.

Chia Junhao, had several attempts to level the score for Myjia but was either denied by some great defending or uncharacteristically snuffing the chance. On one occasion, having dribbled past the entire defence, Junhao somewhat managed to miscue his shot when the goal and the keeper was at his mercy. On another occasion, a superb lob was heading towards goal only to bounce just in front of the goal line and over the bar. If there was a word to describe Myjia during the first period, it has to be Unlucky.

1-0 the score at halftime and Vincent did his usual peptalk and the team were fired up for the second half. The manner which Myjia played their football never once showed their confidence had dropped despite being a goal down nor did it show that the team were trailing.

The team pressed forward with urgency, urged on by a determined Junhao. By the 63rd minute, Myjia were levelled. Some neat exchanges of passes were played from defence to midfield and when the ball left the "modified" boots of Leong Wai Meng, Junhao had escaped his marker and deftly flicked the ball with his outstep for Myjia's equaliser.

The Myjia travelling fans cheered the goal in the stands in what is fast becoming Junhao's trademark goal - the lob.

Myjia were much the superior team at this stage of the game. Player-manager Vincent Low then proceeded to make a monumental mistake, not for the first time this season by his own admission.

Pushing himself further upfield and leaving the defence lacking in experience with Aaron Tan, Sunny Rai, Wilkin Tan and Ng Yongchun lacking a figurehead to set up the impressive-in-the-first-half offside trap.

The warning signs were there when the game seemingly opened up as attacks were launched simultaneously from both sides.

Sunny had a thunderous shot saved by the keeper's legs and when the ball rebounded at speed towards Ronnie Low, the lanky striker failed to keep his composure and the chance went abegging.

Wai Meng too had his fair share of shooting chances during the game and one long range attempt just flew narrowly wide much to his frustration.

On the other side of the pitch, Myjia defenders were working overtime and the effort from every defender were there for all to see as high balls after high balls were headed clear time and time again. Tackles were coming in fast and furious with Yongchun and Wilkin impressing as fullbacks so much so that the former eventually suffered cramps and had to be replaced.

Unfortunately for Myjia, the experience of East Malay eventually showed against an inexperienced Myjia defence. All it took was one fine through pass that dissected the right of Myjia defence and Raymond was left exposed in an one on one situation.

Even though he managed a hand to the shot, there was too much power and the ball slided past the Myjia custodian into the bottom corner. 2-1 to East Malay, much to the agony of Myjia.

As the minutes ticked closer to the final whistle, Wai Meng had a last throw of the dice when he skipped past a defender and raced goalward. A quick glance up failed to spot any fellow attackers and he was then intent on putting in a shot. Alas, the shot lacked power as his legs gave way and that piece of action was to be the last meaningful attack by Myjia.

1-2 the final scoreline and Vincent gentlemanly apologised for his tactical error, "I shouldn't have pushed myself up with the score tied at one apiece. It was too risky a move that unfortunately didn't pay off. Rest assured the mistake will not be repeated. My apologies team."

Myjia youngster Ebenzer Low will be out for up to eight weeks as he suffered yet another freak accident.

Ebenzer was carrying a table when the table slipped from his grasp and ended up on his foot. The result - a hairline fracture of his first metatarsal on the left foot.

Youth player Ryan Low made his fifth appearance of the season on Saturday and his progress was evident. Showing more running and even a little touch of toughness in his tackling, more will be keenly expected of Ryan next year when he will be hitting a growth spurt.

Last but not least, Wilson Tan has won a prize money of $25,000 - equivalent of SG$35.20 from team mate Leong Wai Meng when he thrashed Wai Meng 6 frames to 1 in a game of billiards.

Wilson now holds the official title of 2007/08 Three Hour Billiards Championship Winner.

Jurong West - Myjia were in full force as the team cheered Akash Rai's one month old celebration at Jurong West as well as his official integration into the Myjia youth team at age one month old.

The chubby Akash now joins his father Sunny and his uncle, Samuel Pek as Myjia players.
